Relationships between demons and angels are strictly forbidden in modern soceity. Even in ancient times, it was against the law to have a romantic tie to one of the Underworld if you were of the Heavans. And most usually, ties like this never are, because the youth are kept in their place and they find love amoung their own kind. But, even so, there is always fear of the Expedition. Every 100 years, the new generation of youth goes down to Earth to expierence Earth life in the eyes of a human. Both worlds celebrate this ritual, and that is how you get inter-world mixing. After about 12 months living on Earth, you're supposed to return. Many who find a romantic tie with an opposite member of a different world do not make the journey back. Those who do not are hunted down and forced to pay the price. Others, both demons and angels, find themselves in a relationship with one of the human youths down on Earth. This is not forbidden, but it his hard. Because the angels and demons are immortal, and the humans are not. In order to become immortal, they need to journey to their lover's world, and leave everything behind. Family, friends...This is the price of love. Are you willing to pay?
