Rose smiled back and then growled. She layed Ethan on the floor, pulled out the dagger and crouched on top of his body, in one fluid movement. "If you who I think you are, you had better move out of the way before I cut off your head and use it as a door stop." She snarled between her teeth, her eyes glowing a dark violet.

Ethan layed there, his eyes wide. "Calm down girlie, before you hurt yourself." It said, and soon a man stood in the doorway, a smile on his face. "I guess it wasn't enough to break your wings, you still can fly. I should have taken them off, just like I did with that girl." He laughed, and Ethan froze, his heart felt like it was stopping. "So angel, show me those wings." Ethan held onto Rose's leg, his eyes closed, as the mark spread to his face. His wings coming out and laying behind him.

Rose hissed and bared her teeth. "I am no 'girlie'!" Her eyes widened, filling to the brim with rage. She snarled and lunged for him, but Ethan had a hold of her. She looked at him, despair melting her face. "No,... Ethan... don't." Her eyes widened as his wings came out. She spun around to face the man. "You monster!" She howled and struggled againest Ethan's hold.

Ethan let go of her leg, finding enough will to let go. The man just laughed. "So girlie, you really want to try, and fight me?" He laughed, moving. "You have no idea, what I am capable of." He whispered, suddenly standing next to her. He vanished, appearing back at the door way. "Don't you see girlie, the man behind you isn't the person you think he is. Why do you think he fell in the first place, he had to have done something terribly wrong."

Rose stood and stared at the man calmly, finding it hard to keep her cool. "Girlie is a nickname that will fanish with your soul." She said, extremly calmly. "I don't care what you are capable of. I-I-I..." She stops and looks at Ethan, gaining strength from his face. She stood taller and took a step toward the man, her eyes turing ptich black. "I don't care, I... don't... care. I DON'T CARE!" She yelled and then brought her knife up to her face and the looked at the scars on her arms. She lowered the knife and glared at the man. "I don't care what you are, or what he is, all I know is that it is time for you to die."

The man smiled, "But I can not die, I am immortal..." A small laugh followed the voice. "You can try, you can try anything you want, I admire your will, but see that it is useless." He whispered, and then appeared behind Ethan, whispering into his ear. "You can only be happy for so long, then it is gone, that is your curse. Remember that, if you want to protect what's close to you, you have to stay away from it." He whispered, taking hold of one of Ethan's wings. "This is why, you lose everything, your too weak." He whispered, twisting his wing. Ethan was in too much pain to focus, and found himself drifting unconcious, hoping that Rose would be okay.

Rose's mouth opened slightly and then she spun around. She locked her jaw, knowing that it would not cause he pain, but willing to try anything she threw the knife at him and then kicked him in his gut, hoping to keep him away from Ethan. She crouched over him, tears welling in her eyes and over flowing. "Punish me, not him. Please." She looked at Ethan and stroked his face and then up at the man. "Please." She whispered. "I'll do anything."

The man smiled, holding onto his stomach. "That's big talk girlie, you have your own problems. His day is coming, no matter what, he will be punished for his sins." He whispered, then dissapeared, her knife laying on the ground where he once stood. One of Ethan's wings was crumpled on the ground, the bones broken again as they once had. Zane unconciously, held onto Rose's hand, feeling the warmth that eminated from her.

Rose dropped her head and stroked Ethan's hair to the side of his face. She let her tears flow freely now and she saw a puddle begin in the middle of his chest. She looked around and then lifted him up. He needed help and she was going to get it. She remembered hearing about a women that was Ethan's partner. She easily found her door and knocked on it with her knee. She yelled in a strangled voice. "Help please! Ethan's injured." Her sentence ended with a long sob.

Seras opened the door, she looked groggy, unhappy that she was disturbed from her sleep. Seeing Ethan, her eyes widened, and she opened the door all the way, looking at Rose. "What happened?!" She half asked, half yelled. Taking Ethan from Rose she layed him on the bed, on his side, making sure the wing was upright. She rushed around the room, collecting things as she went.
