A step back in time... (Medieval rp)

Now she was curious, she stepped up to him and asked, "Everything alright?" her expression rather worried.

He grinned, and took a roll of his own.

The king smiled. "Everything is fine." He said.

Chris smiled slightly. "Thank you." She said softly.

"Absolutely," he kindly with a smile that was genuinly his own.

Chris ate silently. She watched a little girl run by. Laughing. She watched and smiled. Then a little boy laughed, walking beside his father. "Come on daddy! I can't wait to reach the lake!" Chris watched. Her red eyes looked up at the sky. Longing for something.

Toren caught what she was looking at, and asked, "Where's your family?"

She nodded to him and made her way out the door. Ebony walked down the street, watching people doing all sorts of things along the way: Begging, chatting, fetching water, bring food home. It seemed a fairly busy day, and that she was thankful for. She was getting low on money from lack of customers. She reached her shop and home, unlocking the door and rubbing mud off her shoes onto the mat in front of the door. I switched the closed sign to open and put my new supplies into their designated cupboards and displays, then taking a seat at the stool behind my wooden counter.

Chris looked at him. "Dead or near death." She said. Her eyes went back to the sky.

The king got his ring and payed. He put it in a pouch and kept walking around his kingdom.

He cleared his throat, "I'm sorry."

Chris sighed. "They know I'm safe." She said. "They're watching me!" She said. "I know they are." She tore her eyes away, looking at Toren. A small smile on her face.
