Dawn scowled, "Well my bad, how would you like it if I threw you into the middle of a giant forest fire?" She frowned, then sighed, "Well...thanks...I guess...for saving my life..." She frowned, forcing the words out. It was hard, but she had done it.

Ciro silently thanked Dawn for not trying to kill him. He rode the dragon toward the shore...which was still semi far away. He sighed...wondering how long they could last down there without killing eachother.

Lira skidded to a halt, watching the firebender plunge into the water. Taruk dived beneath the surface and rose up again, the girl in his clutches. "Shouldn't have shot fire at him, then." she countered, eyes narrowed at both of the firebenders. Like most other people, Lira thought of fire and firebenders to be a little more... careless when it came to power. "Alright?" she called to the girl, quite stubbornly.

He shrugged slightly, "I'm from the Fire Nation, but I lived in the Earth Kingdom for the majority of my life." Darrien explained in a slightly bored sort of tone. When Jinala spoke again, he blinked. Bloodbenders.. waterbenders got on his nerves enough in the first place, but bloodbending was just sick. Still, he didn't apologize, or pity the girl; she didn't seem like the type to seek sympathy. Pausing for a moment, mentally debating, Darrien gave a stiff nod as he pulled his scarf away from his mouth.

"At least I could put out the fire," Taruk replied back to the girl. "You're lucky I didn't just leave you underwater," he said. Jessup, his cat owl, flew ahead of them and landed back on shore, perched on a branch that was washed up on the small beach. Taruk made the wave behind them slightly larger, in order to go a little faster.

Jinala nodded. "Oh, makes sense now," she said, turning back to the water. She would have to put her attempt at waterbending at hold. She didn't want to reveal to Darrien that he was in the company of the avatar, as she still didn't know him very well. The secret would probably slip if they ran into any trouble though, because she would most likely firebend as well. She smiled at Lyonu, who was now searching the water for fish. "Alright, it's been a while since I had decent company, and I suppose you and your raven eagle will do," she smirked, sitting down by the river again. Lyonu head went down into the water with a splash, only to come up without any fish in his mouth. He growled at the water, as if angry at the fish for avoiding him.

A smirk played on Darrien's lips. He'd been in contact with more earthbenders than firebenders in his life, really, but Jinala still seemed decent enough. He watched in amusement as Lyonu attempted fishing, and a very small smirk formed on his lips as Razor swooped from the branch, plunged into the water, and emerged with a fish clamped in his sharp beak. The bird dropped it next to Lyonu satisfactorily, before flying back up to the branch. "I suppose you two will suffice." Darrien countered smoothly, "Where abouts are you headed to, then?"

Jinala watched in amusement as the raven eagle caught a fish and dropped it in front of Lyonu. The armadillo lion glanced down at it, then up at the bird. He didn't touch it at first, but then bent down to eat it with a small purr. Jinala stroked the armadillo lion's head and then turned to glance back at Darrien. "Oh- well, I was going to look for a teacher," she started. "There's no way anyone would make it to Ba Sing Se, unless they were captured by bloodbenders," she said, pausing for a moment to think. "I guess to Republic City. Maybe if we can get enough benders together in a fighting group, we can stop the League of Hama," she nodded, glancing back at Lyonu.

Ayra had made it back to AirTemple Island, and landed, looking around for her lemur. "Sorra!" she called, walking around a bit until she had found her. Sorra flew over and landed on her shoulder, and Ayra smiled. "Let's go," she said to the lemur, who flew off of her shoulder as she jumped into the air and opened her glider again. She saw trouble in the distance, where she had left the group. She flew back over to the dragon and the others, with Sorra gliding next to her. "Hey guys! It took a while for me to find her-" she stopped, watching the waterbender and firebender in the water, heading back to shore on an ice raft. Ayra landed on the beach, close to the cat owl and the female waterbender, guessing that the others got into some kind of an arguement. "Heh, does this mean the race is off?" she asked, holding her arm out for Sorra.

Dawn sighed, "Thanks for not leaving me..." she sighed...he was right...she was the one who was wrong...she should have never shot him with a fire ball. "I uh...sorry I melted your board..." She frowned, feeling bad..."I should probably learn to control my temper..." She gave a small laugh and tried to stand up, but almost fell from the slipperiness of the ice. "How do you do that?" She asked, a bit amazed that a while ago he had been standing on a board made of ice and he hadn't plowed face first into the ocean on his own.

Ciro flew ahead of them, but he could still hear some of their conversation. He was a bit surprised when he heard the word sorry come out of Dawn's mouth. He smirked and urged the dragon on. Flame was beginning to suffocate Ciro and he wanted to land as soon as possible.

Taruk narrowed his eyes, not sure whether he wanted to accept her apology or not. After remaining silent for a few seconds, he spoke. "Apology accepted, and yes, you should really control you're temper more," he said calmly. He still wasn't thrilled about helping a firebender, but he shrugged it off. She did say sorry, after all. He smiled a bit at her question. "Lots of practice," he replied. "I suppose it also helps that my shoes were slightly made for standing on ice and such," he added. He glanced up at the dragon, then back in front of him. "The name's Taruk, by the way," he said after a moment of silence as they reached shallower water, just a few yards from the shore. He slowed down, shifting his feet a little as he let the wave behind him disperse and level out.

Dawn gave a small smile when he accepted her apology,she sighed in relief. When he answered her question about the ice her smile grew "That must take a long time to learn, you must be advanced in water bending..." she grinned. Having surprised herself because she never gave out compliments, let alone real ones, she blushed a bit, scratching the back of her neck. After a moment of silence, she nodded, "I'm Dawn..." she said, smiling...she decided that she liked this kid...he wasn't afraid to stand up for himself and he had spunk. She approved.

Taruk sighed. "You get used to working with ice when you live in one of the water tribes. Not that you would know anything about that," he said, his voice still calm. He let the ice board stop at the shore. "I learned a lot from my father. He was a good teacher," he added, his gaze hardening. He lowered his hands back to his side, and the ice melted quickly back into the water, dropping both of them. It only came up to his knees and he walked onto shore, out of the bay, then bended the water out of his clothes. Jessup screeched at the ring-tailed lemur that the airbender had, but remained on his little makeshift perch in the sand.
