Eve blinked and smiled.
"That's so sweet!" She gushed. "I'll just be quick. I promise I'll come back to you." As Eve said it she wondered if she was jinxing herself. What if she didn't come back to Jayden? He wouldn't trust her again. Not loosely. Eve gave Jayden a quick peck on his cheek before sliding her arms into the sleeves of her jacket and racing out of the door with a bright smile still flickering on her face.

"Hm I'm sensing some lacking on the flatness. I was careful!" He protested. "Besides, you were more or less asking for it." Xavier nodded as if it made it any better. Which he had a feeling it wouldn't. Xavier placed his face close to Aubrey's. "Would a kiss help?" He asked softly, widening his eyes and giving her a 'innocent' smile.

Wolfgang looked up through the smoke to see Nikolaus, his hand outstretched towards her. And, in the midst of it all, Wolf felt her heart flutter. She quickly extinguished that thought. She coughed and used what felt like all of her strength to stand up and grasp Nikolaus's hand. She was well aware that the heat of it all felt more intense being so close to the flames. It made her afraid. The whole situation was terrifying enough as it was but now Nikolaus was in trouble too. It made him feel so much worse knowing that she was clearly the damsel in distress. She had worked so hard to be the tough one, the strong one, the girl who could look after herself. And now she was clinging to the fact that he was her only hope. But Wolf glanced down at the flames drawing ever nearer and how her left leg wouldn't support her weight anymore. To keep herself awake, Wolfgang cursed fire with every terrible curse word she knew.

Jayden smiled watching Eve walk out the door before she disappeared down the hall. As much as he trusted that Eve would be fine, he couldn't help but worry that something could go wrong, and it would be his fault for not being there to help her. The door latched softly only a few seconds later and Jayden walked back into the centre of their room, peaking out the shades, it wasn't like it was completely dark out, and if Eve needed to walk around the town it wasn't like she'd be in the complete dark. People were getting out of work and going places so he felt like she could be quite safe out there. Looking at the desk that was in their room he looked over the room service list of food trying to pick out what the two could have tonight.

Aubrey was about to protest Xaviers claims, but she stopped. Thinking over his question for a moment she smiled. "Yes, I think a kiss just might help... maybe a little." she replied looking down at him.

Nikolaus' heart fluttered slightly at Wolfgang's hand fitting into his. He didn't know if it was because of how it was his job now to save her, or if it had to do with the earlier events of the day. "Lift your legs up!" he called. "From where I am, I can't lift you onto the tree, or else well both be down there in that fire." He was unsteadily balanced on the limb, and he didn't know how much more pressure he could put on it before the thing broke sending the both of them to the ground. He figured that if Wolfgang picked her legs up he could pull her just over the flames, and then try and get her up into the tree where it was a bit safer and sturdier.

((so ho did the search for the rest of your costume go?! And depending on when you get my post.. how was Trick or Treating?))

My outfit turned out great <3 Some people even said marionette instead of a puppet! I got a lot of candy but that wasn't really the best part. I love getting to dress up and stuff. :3

Eve raced up the steps to the highest floor. From then, she went higher. Her surprise - if all went according to plan - was the roof. If the time was still right it would be a perfect time for the sunset and the beginning of the night. Besides, the skies would be clear and they wouldn't be locked up in a room. Eve needed to stretch her wings again. The more they were cramped up the more they itched and needed to be unconfined. Eve tried the door to the roof and she smiled brightly when it opened easily. She wasn't quite sure why it wasn't locked but that didn't matter. She looked around once her feet were on the flat roof. So far there was no dangerous men waiting for her. Eve knew Jayden would just love it. Her. Him. The world would be at their feet. Finally, they could relax without falling asleep. Maybe.

Xavier gave Aubrey a sly smile before reaching his hand up to her cheek. He then kissed her softly, closing his eyes out of habit. When didn't a kiss help? It was a very good question that Xav didn't think he could answer. Not that he wanted to. Things were simply simple with Aubrey. Sometimes. Except when she went all girl on him and confused him greatly. Reluctantly, Xavier pulled away and meet Aubrey's gaze.
"Better?" He asked, finding that his heart was racing much faster then before. Every time that was what Aubrey did to him.

Wolfgang would have rolled her eyes if she had wanted to spare the precious energy. Using just her right leg, Wolf gathered her strength and lifted her legs as Nikolaus pulled. She swung upward slightly and could feel the smile tempting to touch her face. Her cat genes hadn't failed her so far. But, knowing the branch was weak and her momentum caused her to go a little farther than she had thought. But at least the danger of the flames wasn't so large. Breathing heavily and coughing, Wolf untangled herself from Nikolaus. He had saved her. Truly saved her. Wolf rubbed her eyes in a hope that they would stop watering, her brain lagging more and more.
But then, something strange happened. The flames froze as if they were made of ice and then just... disappeared. They died away leaving a shocking silence in their place. Wolfgang looked at the clearing in surprise. Just gone. She shivered though she wasn't cold and looked over at Nikolaus with weary eyes. She didn't know what to say. All of her thoughts moved slowly and with great effort. It was as annoying as anything but Wolf figured she would just have to sleep it off. But even as she thought about it, Wolf was clinging to the tree so she didn't fall off and pass out. Which seemed a very good idea at the moment...

(( Sorry for the god-modding-ish. ^^" I didn't know if just having Wolf hang from Nikolaus's hands would be that attractive or productive. xDD ))

((goodness. busy busy.. new job. hockey. practice. Lessons. photography. school. home work. Sorry for not being able to reply for so long!
My Halloween was good. Too cold for my costume and I ended up getting sick a few days after.. but other then that I had a bunch of fun!
I'm glad your costume turned out good!, What did you end up using for a top?))

Jayden huffed turning the menu over to see what else there was, sadly he found only a blank page. He couldn't decide on what to get, well that wasn't completely true. He was having a hard time picking out something for Eve. He wanted to find just the right thing for her, but yet.. his mind was drawing a blank and his pockets were almost empty, so there wasn't a lot of options to have. Knowing that They would end up needing a lot more money for their trip, Jayden picked something fast, easy and cheep. Something he knew he would never do if they actually had the money. Picking up the room phone he carefully dialled the number printed on the card, and ordered their food. Pizza. Staying safe, he ordered half cheese half pepperoni counted out the money he'd need when the knock on the door came, and sat back down on the couch.

Aubrey smiled, Xaviers warm hands gently cupping her face. Her eyes fluttering back open at the sound of his voice Aubrey smiled once more. "I think so." she replied to him with almost a laugh in her voice. "But next time, I'm sure that just a kiss won't work.." she smiled. "I'm telling you.. I might be all outdoorsy and tough looking, but I'm pretty breakable." she explained.

Nikolaus was surprised by her effort of climbing up into the tree. He hadn't figured that Wolfgang would have been able to just pull herself onto the tree, but yet she had just lept (sp?) up there, so gracefully. His heart racing and mind buzzing he coughed a few times looking over at Wolfgang sort of confused by everything that had just gone on. Catching his breath and the smoke leaving his eyes he blinked a few time. "You okay?" he asked her softly his voice shaking just a bit.

(( Don't be. ^^ You couldn't help it that you were so busy. ;3 My life is crazy at times while sometimes I'm bored and don't know what to do. ;p It flip-flops but that's what makes it exciting! =) You never know what's going to happen next.
I borrowed a shirt from my next door neighbor - we're sorta friends but not really really close, ya know? - that had a peasant style to it. It was/is a green-blue-ish color but mostly green, with white stitching down the center and on the collar and wherever stitches are found. xD I had to wear white under armor because it was coooolllldddd! But it was still very fun even though I was annoyed because it was my time of the month and all that comes with it. Gr.
But yes, did you finish your candy yet? Or did you give it away? ))

Eve did a 360, getting the full e(a?)ffect of the city being splayed out for her. Her bangs fluttered into her eyes but she didn't mind for by then Eve had closed her eyes and tilted her head to the sky and taken a deep breathe. The simplest things were perfect for her. She didn't need a lot. What she had was beginning to be more than enough. Things just... fit. Eve wouldn't have her life any other way. Sure she was in danger whenever she forgot her jacket, yes she didn't even know if her parents were waiting at home for her, but those things could be fixed. More or less. What really counted was that she was with someone who would always lift her up, never break her down. And sometimes that was all someone needed.

"Hmm..." He trailed off, smiling kindly though he was thinking of a few things he could say to tease her. "That's alright. I won't hurt you, Aubrey. At least, not on purpose." He thought of the one fight they had had and how terrible it had seemed. It made him think how he really didn't want to make Aubrey sad, upset, hurt, and never crying. Girls crying - especially (sp) Aubrey - was very hard for him to see or have to deal with. He loved her too much to let those tears fall. Xavier was at a loss for something to say that already hadn't been said. The silence wasn't uncomfortable, just... thoughtful.

Slowly, painfully slowly, her brain thought of something to say. Was she okay? Wolf still knew she just wanted to give up. Let whatever was going to happen just be. But her attention was caught when suddenly the roaring of the flames just... stopped. Her green eyes wide, Wolfgang watched as the flames moved in slow-motion before freezing completely. Then, with a sharp click the flames vanished as if a large wind had blown them away. Obviously the flames knew their prey was gone so they disappeared. Forever hopefully. Wolfgang glanced once more at where the flames had been moments before. She didn't believe it. How was it that things could be so weird. Flames didn't act the way they had to her. Not in the slightest. But Wolfgang lost her train of thought when a fresh wave of pain swept through her, starting at her left calf and moving over her body. Her protective walls were way down so she winced as a common reaction. Showing any sign of emotion was not Wolfgang but what could she do? Rubbing her eyes Wolf shook her head slowly. No, she was indeed not okay. Someone was out to get her, and maybe not just her since Nikolaus had been endangered too, and she felt like she was about to faint, resulting in falling out of the tree. Which would have been fine if everything hadn't all happened in a span of a few hours. It was all just so overwhelming and. Hard. Wolfgang let out a sigh of annoyance and frusturation, ignoring that she had kissed Nikolaus - willingly even - only minutes before. It made things much more embarrassing and Wolfgang didn't do emotions.

Goodness, never start your own business..I'm in the process of making that mistake.
My times online shall not be as wonderfully long as they once were, but none the less I'm trying to get back to everyone I owe replies to!
I have not forgotten, oh no never did i forget.. just have been so busy, I haven't even been able to check the weather online, never mind try and get on line! <3 forgive me?))

Jayden grumbled peaking out of the blinds once more, he was too worried to have Eve out there alone for much longer. He was fidgeting and at every little sound he almost ran to the door thinking it could be Eve. Oh my was Jayden a mess. Almost so much that as the moments went by he found the need to laugh at himself. He was all too worried and just needed to relax. Eve would be back after the food came, and the two could spend the night eating and catching up on even more sleep before leaving the next night. he had nothing to worry about, Eve was fine and she could stand up for herself.

Aubrey smiled. "I'm glad that you at least won't try." she replied rolling her eyes at Xavier. "I'm not sure if that was nice of you to say, or if I should be worried that you had to clarify that with me." she shook her head. "But by all means, I'm going to take it as something nice." she replied answering her own questions.

Nikolaus' hands were holding onto one part of Wolf's jacket to make sure she was steady. He slid himself closer, the reason of because it was safer to be near the trunk, or because he wanted to be near Wolf he didn't know. As she shook her head Nikolaus nodded his. It wasn't the best question ever to ask, of course she wasn't okay. His eyes eyes flickered down to the burn of jeans ad Wolf's leg. He blinked a few times, Nikolaus was not doctor, but he knew that Wolf's burns were not good at all. Plus the smoke in her lungs wasn't going to be good either. "I've got to get you back home." he said looking t the ground and then back to Wolfgang's leg. Jumping was out of the question, and Nikolaus wasn't too sure how carrying her back to his house would go over.

Eve took one more look around, the light breeze messing up her hair further, and smiled to herself. What their luck. The rain had gone but it looked as if it would be back. At least, Eve could see it raining off in the distance. But, with more good luck the clouds would be illuminated by the sun beautifully. It made her excited, truthfully. Eve closed the roof door behind her and raced down the many flights of stairs till she got to her and Jayden's room. She was a tad breathless and had to pause a moment to regain her steady breathing.
"It's perfect! No creepy guys in sight, no guys, no cameras, just a lot of surprise!" Eve grinned. She just wanted to be able to share with Jayden whatever she could. Maybe it was more like share her world with him. With their entirely different blood-lines, she was afraid of what might be to come. There was no way she was going to waste what precious time they had now. She knew her parents might be a tad more accepting than Jayden's family, but what would that result in? Eve could only think of the worse so she brushed it from her mind and vibrated excited-energy, even if it wasn't that big of a deal as it first seemed. But to her, it was.

Xavier smirked.
"I have a feeling you will have nothing to worry about in the slightest. Sadly, you'll end up so carefree because you haven't a worry in the world that you could end up leaving boring old me for some guy without a bad temptation towards you and maybe he'll have a motorbike." Xavier nodded as if he was speaking truth. "I've always wanted a motorbike, you know." He smiled but he was - stupidly - a little afraid that maybe Aubrey would out grow him. It didn't seem illogical when he was going to out live her. She might not be able to handle that. And if she couldn't, would she just leave? It was too easy to think about. His girl leaving him? It sent shivers down his spine just thinking about it.

Somehow, Wolf manged a sarcastic glare. Of course she couldn't stay in a tree. She looked away and focused on her breathing. It was all too annoying to know how she was completely useless. Wolfgang didn't like how her fate was in Nikolaus's hands now. Maybe not her life but how the next day would appear. Wolfgang tilted her head up slightly as cool rain water ran down the sides of her face. It felt like bliss after the smoke and heat of the fire. How was she suppose to explain to Nikolaus what happened? She barely knew herself. Wolf closed her eyes, fully content - suddenly - on letting Nikolaus be the bigger person. Be the adult. Be the plan-maker and the life-saver. Whatever it took she knew he would help her out. He was too kind to just leave her in a tree. Hopefully too kind. Her heart slowly finally and her coughing fits subsided mostly. She knew she was going to be sore, tired, and cranky tomorrow morning but she just told herself to take one day at a time. It was all she could do at the moment. Things weren't looking up, again, but she just had to stick to it. If the world wouldn't turn out how she wanted for her, she would make it so herself.

Can you believe that there's only a week and a few days before 2010 is over? remember it seems like it was only a few days ago everyone was wondering what to call the new year. two thousand and ten or twenty ten..

It sure as heck does. I've been so busy with everything with that, plus I moved up in hockey teams and i play twice a week now.. and school. Goodness darling!))

As there was a knock on the door Jayden jumped. Peaking out the little slit in the door, he noticed the familiar look of a waiters outfit, and paused for a moment thinking the worst. He sighed opening the door to find nothing out of the ordinary, payed the man and shut the door behind him setting out the food he had ordered on the small table they had in the room. Once more he went back to the couch peaking out the window seeing if he could somehow spot Eve. He knew he really shouldn't be that nervous about her being out by herself, but of course he was.

Aubrey giggled. "A motorbike now?" she questioned raising an eyebrow. "That's one thing I didn't expect to hear from you." she smiled thinking about it for a moment. Could she ever get bored enough just to leave Xavier in search of even more adventure. Yes sure she did love her adventures, and finding new things, but would she ever love those things more then she did Xavier. No, it was crazy, she could do all those things with Xavier, there was never any need to leave him she assured herself. Feeling the slight chill that ran through Xavier she looked back up at him, had they been thinking about the same things or was it just a coincidence?

"You've got to trust me on this." Nikolaus said softly, once again gathering Wolfgang in his arms, trying to ignore the part of his brain that wanted to brush her hair out of her face, and hold her close telling her everything would be okay. It was not a time to do anything like that, and he had a feeling that what had happened earlier would just be a haunting in his past. Not waiting for a reply from Wolfgang he started down the tree, trying to not bump or scrape Wolf against the tree bark. His vampire half giving him wonderful balance, he easily scaled the tree not using much of his hands to steady himself.. Once on the ground he refused to set Wolfgang down, for he knew, even if she denied it, her leg wouldn't hold her weight, not with a burn like that. "Your house or mine?" he asked softly already making his way into the forest.

It came so fast!! My Christmas was very good but very tiring so I'm glad I got to sleep in a little.
What did you get for Christmas? I got these lovely pairs of mukluks - eskimo boots - that are simply to die for <33 They're hard to describe but they are gorgeous xD

Busy, Busy, Busy! It's hard to just find time to sit down and reply when you know you have so much more to do D: I feel your pain, but break is here so hopefully we'll be able to catch up, hmm? ;3 }

Eve rushed down the many stairs, too nervous and excited to take the elevator, and breezed into her and Jayden's room. Her hair was almost dry from the wind and her cheeks were bright and rosy from the after-rain-chill.
"It's perfect!" Eve said breathlessly. "Nothing suspicious, nothing to worry about." She teased, brushing a stray piece of her silver hair out of her eyes. She knew what she thought was a lot of things, but Jayden was still a tough puzzle to figure out. Not that she ever wanted to. It made him all the more interesting if she didn't know everything. Eve slipped her hand into Jayden's comfortingly, for she did know that he hated to not have her near. Yes, it could be a false worry but it still made her blush and love him all the more.

Xavier mockingly frowned.
"Why? I don't see like the type for a bike? Is that it?" He threatened playfully. Sure he could see where Aubrey was coming from when he wasn't exactly the one searching for a rush, a thrill. It would be terrible if something happened to him, leaving Aubrey alone. He couldn't take that risk; not when Aubrey was so wonderfully perfect in her own way. Xavier tried to hide his smile and replace it with a glare but it was tricky when Aubrey's laugh still rung in his ears. She would so be the death of him someday, he just knew it. But thinking about it made him sad to know that maybe all their times together wouldn't all be happy. So he focused on Aubrey's eyes and soon found himself forgetting about those dark thoughts. They didn't matter now. Not when he and Aubrey would have at least the rest of the day together. And that was the way he wanted to spend it, happily gushing over each other like love-sick-high-school-fools.

Wolfgang instantly stiffened and her whole demeanor quickly hardened. Physical touch was a big 'No' for Wolfgang, but with Nikolaus? That made it worse. She tried to fight him feebly but she just didn't have the energy to. And, deep down inside her Wolfgang knew she didn't want Nikolaus to stop holding her. It scared her more than being the damsel in distress did. She wasn't suppose to fall for him! It ruined everything yet, every time Wolf tried to stop it she just fell harder for him. It's those eyes. Definitely his eyes. But Wolf obviously wouldn't look at Nikolaus. She stared at her hands, the sky, the tree, even her busted leg over Nikolaus. Who ever had sicked a mass of radioactive flames would pay very dearly when she could walk again, that was for sure.
"Mine." Wolfgang said curtly, swallowing the oncoming cough. Even though she was in no shape to move, Wolf would do anything she could to appear strong. It was all she had left, she couldn't let that go.

You know me, I got a lot of new hockey equipment, things to help my business, and some new clothes, and a Wii that my family and I are falling in love with! (Gosh my arms hurt so much from playing though!)

Jayden jumped as Eve burst into the hotel room. He smiled her hair still flying back, and her words kind of when in one ear and out the other as he just smiled glad to have her back. Her hand slinging into his kind of brought him out of his slight trance. "Hmm?" he asked smiling as he pulled Eve into his arms. "I'm sorry I had one of those moments were your beauty kind of just shut down all of my conciseness." he chuckled softly.

Aubrey smiled, "Well you kind of do, but then again I don't think so." she replied. "I'm undecided for now." she giggled. Her mind wasn't really thinking about what they were currently talking about, no not with a pair of beautiful green eyes looking into hers. Not with the way his hair was still slightly messy from him jumping down next to her. Oh goodness, if this was how her whole life was going to be, Xavier might need to get use to the phrase What, I'm sorry I didn't hear you, I was distracted by your handsomeness. She couldn't help but smile at that, no she didn't think Xavier would really mind hearing that, or anything like it.

Nikolaus only chuckled softly at Wolfgangs' reply, she was one tough cookie that was for sure. He even was having a hard time not smiling at her comment of mine. Yes it was rude, short and had a think lacing of attitude, but something about it was. He stopped his mind short almost causing him to stop walking. He was not going there again, the more he thought about the cute little things Wolfgang did the more trouble he would get himself into.
He made a soft and swift glance down at Wolfgang, hoping she couldn't have caught on with anything he was thinking. Not knowing what kind of half breed she was, was kind of a pain in the neck. Nikolaus was just trying to be careful about anything he did that might give away whatever feelings might be there for her for the fear that she might pick up on them.
