(( It still feels like the first week of school. D: NOT easy, Love, not easy. Yet, we must pull through! Onward ~<3 ))
Xavier thought about that. Should he make her guess? Or, just tell her?
"Would you believe me if I told you I forgot?" Of course Xavier couldn't forget his middle name but he didn't like to think about how it was his father's first name as well. And when didn't he take a chance to impossibly annoy Aubrey? It just came naturally. Plus, she always smiled at him when he did. So far he couldn't see anything better than making Aubrey's face light up in a smile. Maybe the fact that she was his and he was hers would top it. But then he thought of a thousand more things that could be better than that even. It was a very happy day when Xavier couldn't think clearly.
Wolfgang felt a small sliver of hope - hope that she would come out of this strongly - as an inkling of her anger flickered to life.
"Then what would it sound like if it did come out right, Nikolaus?" A bitter tone touched Wolf's words. Part of her was smirking, glad she was biting back at Nikolaus. But she couldn't help but feel terrible. Nikolaus was just trying to help, right? So why was she turning away every single act of kindness he showed? Wolf turned away. She wouldn't look at him, not to see how hurt he could be nor how angry he could get himself. She wouldn't do it. She couldn't do it. There was no way Wolfgang would let him win. Not this time, not any other time. She didn't need him. She'd proven that but maybe, just maybe, she didn't need him, but she wanted him. A friend, someone to talk to when she couldn't sleep, someone, anyone. And just like that Wolf felt a sense of longing for something she had never had. And, of course, she realized that terribly wonderful fact after she had practically hissed in Nikolaus's face. Now how was he suppose to forgive her? She didn't make it easy. But she couldn't go on forever. Silently Wolfgang wished Nikolaus would stick with her, push through when she was an antisocial brat, and all the other times. Just once she wished someone would give her a second chance, a third, a forth, as many as she needed for when she threw all of them away. Wolf wouldn't be broken down easily, but with time and a few of the right words, Wolf knew she could give Nikolaus a chance. Perhaps.
