Mizu was caught by surprise by the response and shifted her shoulders suddenly, her head snapped to face the direction of the voice. Her almond shaped eyes narrowed at the words and her elfin ears twitched. Kill. Unfortunately, there were others words to the question that deterred from the meaning she desired it to be. When the reptilian's voice drifted into the air, leaving a moment of silence Mizu then began to think. Name? She had never once heard the reptilian's name. Perhaps so, but she hardly pays attention to such petty things. Mizu's upright poise faltered, laying back against the trunk of an unusually large tree with her shoulders stretched before her and her elbows scraping the bark... because so suddenly a yearning had manifested itself into something dangerous. However, the girl thought better of her actions within a few moments and lifted her body from the earth's sculpture. She pulled her shoulders back and lifted her head as if to brush away the thoughts that had run through her mind; unbearable, petty thoughts. Mizu's blue eyes scanned the forest slowly, searching for the reptilian that had challenged her apathy.
"I care not for your name," she murmured quietly.

Ink leaned his head back against the trunk and stretched out his limbs; even his fingers tensed. Then, all at once, his muscles relaxed. If the constant turning thought that this place was a fancy imprisonment, a captivity to shove those into who didn't fit into society, wasn't constantly tumbling around his mind, he would have thought this was nice. It was finally getting warm enough that he didn't have to sunbathe to keep his body temperature up, and sitting under the foliage with just a few speckles of light falling on him was... nice. Mizu was fairly close; he could smell the salt residue that had been left on her gills, as well as feel her vibrations. Close enough, anyway. Ink was certain that she was spying on him, hunting perhaps.
He had not expected for her to answer, since the pause was so long, he thought she was just holding out to right out attack. And, even though her reply was quiet, she was close enough for his keen senses to pick up on it. "I never cared to remind you," he called back. He was an antagonizer; mainly, his goal in this instance was to get Mizu to come out of her hiding place.

With every soft crunch of flimsy stems and occasional dry leaf, Mizu stepped lightly through shadows the cavernous trees have created. Although Mizu had lied countless times, this one lie felt like it had penetrated her skin. As if this lie had mattered enough to actually phase her indifference. For, she absolutely did care for his name. Without voluntarily realizing it, Mizu had began to think of names she had caught in the past through conversation overheard. Alex, Alexis, River, Olivia, Oliver, Danika It was only until Mizu noticed she was pulling her eyebrows together in concentration did she realize that she was sounding names in her head; sounds that she had never cared for in the past. Was she that desperate?
In a few moments, Mizu was standing behind the trunk the reptilian was leaning back against. She felt his presence so close to hers it was as if the two were intertwining into one. The territorial boundaries have been breached. The two opposing yet similar creatures had hardly spoken in the past, however only when Mizu yearned for a good fight did she begin to see farther into this one. Mizu cringed slightly and noticed how the reptilian was relaxing in shade and thought that odd since this one often enjoyed the sun's presence. She was sure the reptilian knew that she did not appreciate the sunlight and wondered if this was some kind of scheme to lure her into. Whatever it was, Mizu was not going to move from her position despite every nerve in her body twitching and pulling at her to leave.
Further, Mizu was aware of the reptilian's acute senses, and so replied, her voice leveled and brazen, "Fine then. You are a reptilian after all, so I shall continue to call you just so."
