Clint watched Tony stomp off, probably to go investigate the WADE building. He turned back to Natasha and wrapped an arm around her waist. "So, have you been doing anything productive?" He asked.

Natasha seemed so happy and just the opposite from yesterday that it cheered him up, too. The effect another person could have on him was surprisingly large, especially if it was the red haired spy involved. Dinner that night seemed better than winning the lottery to Clint. SHIELD agents were payed well, anyways.

Natasha huffed out contently as Stark stormed out, glad that someone was finally challenging him. She knew Tony was a good man on some occasions, but other times, he needed to be taught a little humility.

"Productive?" she said, astonished, turning to Clint. "Since when do top of the line assassins ever have something productive to do while waiting in a base like sitting ducks?" she asked sarcastically, pressing her hands to his chest as he pulled her close.

"I miss it, out there." she said after a long pause, a sort of sadness and longing clouding her face. "Seeing the world, putting my skills to use. Taking orders and doing missions. Challenging myself, thinking about things." the agent wandered, a sparkle in her eye when she reminisced about the freedom she had once felt. Her voice was quiet and thoughtful as she leaned into the archer. "I'm sitting here...training teens and fending off mutants." she said with a brief chuckle, almost of disbelief. "Nothing stealthy or undercover about it. Nothing to think about, nothing to solve." Natahsa sighed, feeling a little depressed at the thought. She shook her head a little, wondering is Clint agreed with her at all. She knew this was easier than her old job. An amazing team of experts by her side and a safe base and guarantee for good health. But it wasn't quite as thrilling as the old jobs SHIELD sent her on. No more fear, no more adrenaline or fighting against other trained humans.

Now the assassin only had spare time to walk around and reflect on all the wrongs she'd done. Sure, time heals, but too MUCH time allows you to dive right back into the past.
The only good thing was that she had time for Clint, time for a relationship, not her old ways of just picking a man to bed, then leaving by the morning.
This was something long term that would have never developed without this assignment to have brought them closer.

Clint carefully listened to Natasha talk about the good old days. To be honest, he felt that way too. No matter how big the base was, he felt caged up and held back, when he could be doing things that would help the world. His only reason he still had his sanity? Natasha. She was one of the few that could make him feel free.

He pressed his forehead against hers, staring into her eyes. "I'll tell you what," He whispered. "The next interesting mission that pops up is ours. We'll find something unique and thrilling. Then we can go together and be real spies, not ones that sit around all day like we are now. How does that sound?" Clint thought about all the adventures they'd together in the past. Now was a good time for another of those.

Picking her up gently, Clint held Natasha like a princess, so she could lean her head against his neck. "Princess, where shall I carry you?" He grinned foolishly, enjoying the moment.

((I just realised Thor's gurl asked a question like 10 pages back - well, I was planning on Loki leaving AJ to go back home, after a lot of debate, but then Thor could be like "I have Jane..." And then Loki could be like "you'd never share the throne with me while the maden is on it with you.))

I smile as I hear her clatter into the sewers on her rush to see me again, and I open the door for her. I fling my arms out wide to her, my smile spreading into a large grin as she strolls into view, "My love..." I half whisper it. I couldn't quite believe that she was here, back with me.
