Dusk hesitated before gently hugging her. "It's for the best, though." He didn't want to leave either...but he didn't want to end up like Marina. He looked up at the sky...it was getting late, the spell would be wearing off soon.

Rain silently hugged him back, tears falling from her eyes. "Promise me you won't let anything happen to yourself," she whispered. "If I lost you, too... I don't know what I'd do." Silently she swallowed her tears, trying to pull herself together.

Dusk nodded, looking down at her as he did so. "I promise I won't, as long as you promise me the same thing," he whispered. He wiped the tears from her cheeks before rubbing his own eyes...he kept seeing dark splothes everywhere. "I think the spell is wearing off," he whispered.

Mali sighed, flipping her phone shut. For a little while, she didn't say anything. Finally, she looked up at Forest, giving a sad smile. She took a deep breath. "Okay, let's keep moving" she nodded, giving him one last hug.

Rain's eyes widened. "I'm sorry," she murmured, seeing splotches of the forest now. She wished he could see always. Silently she took his hand. "I promise this won't be the last time that you'll see... We'll find someone else who can do the spell again."

Forest's eyes flashed. "Why does Summer have to be like this?" he growled, his temper getting the better of him. Silently he tried to calm himself, not wanting to be rude in front of Mali.

Dusk closed his eyes...his eyesight almost completely gone already. "It's fine...At least I got to see for a little while. And I have you to thank for that." He smiled at her.

Rain's eyesight was half there. "Look- we can see each other.. for a moment," she whispered, squinting her eyes so that she could see him. Tears were in her eyes.

Dusk opened his eyes slowly, still smiling faintly. He narrowed his eyes so he could see her through the darkness. "Don't cry," he whispered.

"I'm not," Rain replied, still looking into his eyes. Her eyesight was getting more and more clear. "I wish you always had sight.." She sighed. "I wonder if Forest and Mali found Summer," she said quietly, trying to lighten the mood.

Dusk shrugged, the blackness covering his eyes completely now. "Hopefully," he murmured in reply. "And I'm used to being blind, so it doesn't bother me," he said with a slightly smile.
