[Africa.]

Mali watched, smiling, from a large boulder. The sent of pine that clung to her hid her scent. *Keep going Forest, you'll be fine* she thought, her gaze fixed intently on them as she waited for them to finally say what they actually felt. But hearing his angry answer, she tensed. *Okay... maybe he isn't doing so well* she thought with a soft sigh.

[Cloudsong]

"And if you have a problem with how I am," Forest continued, though Summer hadn't commented yet. "You can't change me. So you can find someone else to mess up." He bared his teeth, turning around to leave. "I won't ever change for someone." This wasn't true, but he was just trying to get his point across.

[Africa.]

Mali jumped off the boulder, her white paws landing gracefully on the ground. She walked up to Forest and pushed him back slightly. "Forest, go back." she ordered, but her tone was gentle and friendly. "Dont let this hurt you, and dont let yourself hurt her." she said gently, turning and padding away, not waiting for an answer.

[Cloudsong]

Forest watched Mali go, but shook his head. "It's not worth it," he called after her, beginning to follow her. He wasn't in the mood for arguing with Summer.

[Africa.]

Mali turned around and, yet again, pushed him gently backwards. "Dont." she said simply, her eyes serious, telling him to trust her. "Go back" she said softly, this time waiting where she stood in front of him so that she knew he wouldn't follow her.

[Cloudsong]

Forest flattened his ears. He hated being controlled. "What's the point?" he hissed. "She obviously wants nothing to do with me." He turned and began to walk away, towards the edge of the forest.

[Africa.]

Mali raced after him, cutting him off. "Stop it Forest. Your oviously not the best at seeing what others feel, but I am. Forest, she cares about you, and this is killing her." she told him gently. "And you know what, this is killing you too." she said quietly, almost too soft for him to hear. "Forest, dont miss your chance, because she wont be around forever." she told him with a small reassuring smile, shaking her head slightly.

[Cloudsong]

Forest stared blankly ahead of him, but shook his head. "No," he said slowly. "She doesn't care about me." He wasn't trying to be difficult. He just wanted to show Mali that summer really didn't care.

[Africa.]

Mali sighed. "Forest. She does care about you. You just need to show her that you care too." she said, her voice pleading now. She wanted depspretly for her friend to be happy. "Forest, look at the pain in her eyes. That pain is from not knowing if you like her. But behind that pain, theres something more Forest. Please, just do me a favore and find that something more." she said softly, turning away and walking away, glancing back to make sure he was going back to Summer.

Feeling annoyed, Forest watched Mali turn and walk away. He didn't turn around to go talk to Summer, just stood there, immaturely facing the other way as Summer.
