"Ignore them." Kyler told her softly. He was one of the more powerful vampires around here and no one dared to challenge him.

Kojaku did as he said and looked down. The collar of her dress slipped down just enough so that the tattoo was visible. One of them grabbed her chin and yanked it upward. "Huh. You're not to bad looking for a slave." He sneered.

"I said she isn't a slave." Kyler growled. He pushed them away and started leading Kojaku away from them.

Kojaku kept her eyes averted,her mouth shut in embarassment. Her cheeks had a slight red tint to them,but she quickly tried to hide it.

Kyler led her down the sidewalk, "Hey, it's okay. They are just jerks."

She kept her eyes down and mumbled something about her being a slave.

Kyler heard something about a slave. He stopped and faced her, "You are not my slave." All his friends stared at him curiously.

"Whatdyou mean she's not your slave?!" The one who'd grabbed Kojaku asked. "You can clearly see The Mark on the back of her neck." He clutched her arm and pulled down her collar,as if to show Kylar that there was indeed a mark there. Kojaku stumbled as he pulled her back. "Get off!" She growled in a deeper voice than usual.

"She isn't my slave." Kyler said advancing towards them.

"Can she be mine then?" He asked smirking down at her and pulling her toward him. Kojaku Glared darkly and looked up. "I'll repeat this one last time." She said,her voice Tight with patience. "Get.Off." He laughed and tightened his grip. Kojaku cocked back her fist and slammed it into his face. He stumbled back holding his jaw.
