Watching Winds Blow
Sitting along the hill, in the tall green and soft grasses that cover the field, you stare into the sky. Not because of the clouds, or the blue sky- you're watching the winds blow. Staring up at the winds fills you with pride, knowing that you are the only one who can actually see the wind.
A small fox walks up to you, its face grave. You look down at it. Why does it look so unhappy? You have never had to worry about much. This fox has protected you from being burned by fire all your life. You can't be burned by fire. Fire is part of you. The fox mews, "We must hide."
You don't know what's going on, only that you can trust the fox. After a long hour of traveling, the fox brings you to a cave covered by a rock. A few animals move the rock, revealing that the cave is a large system. And that there are more animals and humans. All like you.
They all know you. Not you, yourself. Who you are. You are normal, of course. But your soul isn't, as your new friends explain. You have a Guardian Spirit, an animal who has decided to spend its supernatural life protecting you from the element it holds eternally in its heart. Each animal has the ability to protect its partner from something that can harm them, but they cannot do anything with other elements.

So. You have known this Spirit since you were born, and perhaps loved for the curse that comes with it. What are the elements and curses? I'm very glad you asked. The Spirit's element is what you are nearly immune to. Of course, if you have the fire immunity, you can't go jumping into volcanoes. But you can withstand some of that element- and, of course, control it. Your powers are pretty weak, though. But you can improve yourself enough to be able to make a volcano erupt on your command- just not yet. The curse is something that turns out right, but can turn at any moment. If you were to have a 'Wealth' curse, your town will have very good luck with money- until the curse takes affect. Then, your town would have unmistakably bad wealth until you left. Do you get it now? Anyway, put 'colliding forces' in any color on your form.
