Germany stumbled around his house, getting used to the bandage.

Netherlands closed his eyes for a second, only to be woken up by the shrill whistle of the teapot. He grumbled and stumbled to the Kitchen and poured the mint tea into a large cup.

"That would be awesome dude!" America said with a big grin.

Salvador smiled. "Alright. Just avow me the kitchen."

Germany spent the next few weeks wearing a protective bandage. After about a month, his doctor had him return to the hospital. The nation sat on the examination table and held his head still as the doc sniped the gause, then unwrapped it from around Germanys head. They still didnt know the extent of the injury, but thats what this visit was for.

The doctor put the bandages in the trash and started to examine the area. It looked good. There was minimal scaring on the skin, but the real question was wether or not Germany coud see out of that side. The nation blinked a couple of times, feeling the doctors hand on his cheek, but didnt think much about it. He figured that the blinding lights of the room hadnt let his eye adjust, so thats why it was still dark on that side. The medic, however, tested a theory, and frowned when Germany didnt perform as expected.

"Hm." the doctor mused, putting his hand close to the injured eye, like he was going to touch it, but Germany ddn't blink as any other normal person would have.

Netherlands frowned, wondering how Germany was doing. He felt less of a Allie by not visiting him since the end of the war. He sighed and wrapped his new scarf around his neck and placed the waffle batter into the waaffle ironed.

The visit was pretty much of a flop after that. Germany hadn't even noticed that he had failed until the doctor told him. Apparently Sweden had calculated that supposed 'random' slash to his face, and had caused permanent damage. To put it simply, he was now blind in that one eye. There was slight fading in his pupil, and the iris color was even lighter then before. Germany had hoped it would be alright, but life was life.


Germany started back home, taking the long way. He didnt have anything better to do, and he hadnt been out in a while.

Netherlands huffed as he opened the waffle iron to see crisp and golden waffles. He turned the iron off and placed the waffles on a plate. He sat on his couch once more, his dogs laying by his feet. He boredly dug his fork into the waffle. He looked at the food with little interest and took a bite, forcing himself to swallow it.
