"Ja, ve did." Germany agreed, facing Netherlands with a genuine smile. "Without you and your bomb, Id be eating dirt right now." the country said and examined the shredded scarf. "Im truly in your deby mein friend. Anything you vant in return you can have it."


"Hm... In not sure." Michigan replied. "I think dad would probably just like to have us all together again."

"That is, if no one dissapears before then." Illinois said with I sad look on her face. "I came pretty close. I'm glad I never actually went to war."

Netherlands nodded, "I would be eating dirt with you then." He chuckled. He looked at the end of his scarf and chuckled, "Perhaps a new scarf? I believe my needs are met." He said with a smile.

"Oh ja, of course." Germany agreed, then with a chuckle added, "Ill send you a vhole truckload for how youve helped me."

He found it amazing to have an alli who was loyal and willing to go to the end. Sure, Italy had always een his friend, but he was such a coward when it came to war... But Netherlands was as tough as he, if not more, and truly kept his promises.


The doctor had requested help in trying to get Germany medical attention, and two of his troops were tugging on his arms, trying to pul him backwards. Germany hardly noticed.


"Yeh... But I think things will get better. United we stand, divided we fall. Without each other, we're nothing but easy prey. We need to stick together. Thats what we've always done, nd thats what we will continue to do, via force or free will. America has always taken care of us, and knows whats best, most of the time. I feel like he wont fail us this time." Michigan said, quietly placing the meat in a pan to start cooking them.

"True." Illinois said. "Besides, dad's rarely loses a war."

Netherland's green eyes brightened, "Good. I'll need a lot for the winter." He chuckled. He glanced over at the German, still worried about his friend's wounds. He gave a reasurring smile, his eyes sparked with loyalty.

Germany was eventually hauled off, via sedative. Apparently when Sweden had struck him, it had effieciently gotten his eye. The medics werent sure if it would cause permanent damage, but for now he would have to wear a protective bandage over the area until it healed up from the surgery.


Sweden however, wasnt as dead and goen as most would have liked to believe. Yeah, he had gotten hit and pretty badly, but he wa still alive. His medics told a different story. Exposure to radiation would definitely hinder his health. When, they were uncertain. It depended on the levels.


Michigan nodded as the meat cooked. "I have faith in him. We'll pull through."

"I guess you're right." Illinois said. "Besides, if could pull through the great depression, we can get through this!"

Netherlands leaned against the doorway thoughtfully propping his chin up with his fist. He felt the burnt edge of his scarf and chuckled to himself, "I'll have enough of these to last me though the end of the world." He mused.

The general waltzed up to Netherlands since Germany was still out cold from his operation. "Your shipment will be in by next month." the man informed, handing the enevlope over to Netherlands. "Germany is very pleased with all your help."


"Exactly!" Michigan piped. "Survive the 30's and you can survive anything!"
