Anril's eyebrow remained raised. "I gain power from the use of a sword. The sword has some amazing property about it. I believe in it, and that it gives me power. The sword breaks, is stolen from me, or is neutralized. No two ways about it, my belief in the sword doesn't that without it, I'm going to be able to do near as much, stepping stone or not. Without it, I'm now weaponless, except for my body, and that doesn't help because I've come to depend so heavily upon the sword. Even if I know how to use my body, after so long of using the sword, I won't be near as effective, nor be able to do as much. It's the same with these wolves. Take away their shadows, and then seasoned werwolves who have been fighting without the shadows will be more than a match for them, or properly trained vampires, though Lord knows there's not many of them as most vampires don't know more than lash out. Proper training is an idea that escapes most, depending and looking down on the werewolves to serve and protect us." She waved her hand dismissively, then pushed a button. Light flared to life from the ceiling, illuminating Sev and Valeriana. "You can't be that stupid." She said dryly. "Sunlight is far from the only way to rid ourselves of shadows, and ambient light such as this holds no harm to our kind. Maybe I forget about my own kind, but at least I'm not blind to old ways that have long since changed because I've been locked away by my family." She said, crossing her arms once again. "So. You willing to start listening, as you have had to have Sev explain most of the world to you again due to your many years of absence, and believe that perhaps others have ideas that might be more valid in this world than the one you know, and following that actually start helping us, or do you wish to argue in a circle for a few more hours?"
{~ "consumed into that idea" and "Absorbing the idea" are polar opposites, and contradictions.... consumed means to ingest, so you're saying in the first that the idea ate or ingested them into itself; whereas in the second, it means to take the idea into one's self. One cannot mean the other here... Consumed by an idea, makes sense, to a certain degree, if it means the being being consumed now has their life or world revolve around a central or driving idea or concept. Consumed into an idea is close, but doesn't quite follow the same rules, so it doesn't make sense... ~}
Faith nodded at him absently as he nuzzled her, and she picked up the pace a little bit. There wasn't anything she sensed to run away from, but she didn't want anything to catch them either if it decided to try and start chasing them before they found help.
"Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage, and then is heard no more:
It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing."
"Life is as tedious as a twice-told tale,
Vexing the dull ear of a drowsy man."
"And this our life, exempt from public haunt, finds tongues in trees, books in the running brooks,
Sermons in stones, and good in everything."
