Doctor Who - The next chapter

Reni was in the corner, drawing with master skill. She kept drawing the scenes she remembered from traveling with the Doctor in his 10th incarnation, and tears blurred her eyes. This was his final trip and she had realized that...but she couldn't let him die..it was too much to handle. Her childhood friend..in love with Xavia...is going to his death..his final hour. Her tears fell upon the paper, blurring a picture of Reni and the Doctor splashing each other at the shores of Calibru.

Animine moved to Reni. "The Doctor doesn't even remeber me." She sad quietly.

The Doctor jumped as the TARDIS landed.

Xavia stared up at the Doctor, eyes wide in fear. This was the Doctor's end. And hers as well.

Animine looked at the innocent looking cylinder. "Curse." She muttered.

The Doctor strode out confidently. "Hey, easy with the guns!" He said. They were in Buckingham Palace, England. What year, he didn't yet know. Twelve men were pointing their guns at him.

"I understand..I mean..oh why does it matter anymore? He loves Xavia...but its just..he completely forgotten me..all those adventures we had together...ever since my exile in my second incarnation...I just can't let him die.." Reni sobbed quietly. She stood up and ran in front of the Doctor. "You can't! Please don't go! Who will protect the Earth after you are gone?"

The Doctor looked behind him. He looked at Reni in a knowing, friend way. "There will be others." He whispered.

Animine looked at him, all the sorrow and pity in her eyes.

Xavia ran up to stand next to him. She grasped his hand. "Together?"

The Doctor smiled. turning back to Xavia. "They aren't gonna kill me just yet. I'm reckoning there is - " He was cut off as a dalek moved infront of the men. "Fabulous. Can't these metal morons get a life?"

"I can't just let you die!" Reni cried out as she kept blocking the Doctors way. "You can't die right now..thats a promise!" She said and turned to the men with guns. "Shoot me. Don't shoot the Doctor. Shoot me instead." She told them.

The Doctor pushed Reni out the way.

Animine took her arm. "Come on, Reni."
