She looked at Tenzin "I'm a firebender. No one appears to like me because I'm a firebender.. My father told me fire was pride and honor but..." she looked at the island and looked over to the side of the house knowing where to go.

Biyu listened to him and blinked a few times in surprise. Was he dumd? No, she was probabaly the only one here who was undoubtedly paranoid. she sighed and nodded, but said nothing in return as she overheard Emerald. The young woman pushed herself up, but se still clutched the bar in her left hand as she made her wa across the deck to Emerald. She looked at her her for a moment before a big sigh escaped her, and mentally she beat herself,"Don't worry about what others think Emerald. It's good to take advice, butone mustn't let others get to them. Once someone gets their fangs into you, they know it."
She explained and shuddered a little as a wave rocked the boat, but she tried to surpress it,"I'm..." She sighed and looked up ast her,"Just a stingy person. I don't get along with many others well... At all. I'd rather be alone. But I owe the Avatar my help, as a.. Respect for my Grandmother. But, I guess doing things like moving away puts one into many unwanted situations, but I deal with them. As do you." She explained and stared into her eyes before she put her hand out,"Would you care to start over?" She suggested,"My name is... Biyu Beifong,"She started and kept a relavently straight face,"I suppose, that if I've already befriended one Firebender, I could hope to make another. I'm sorry if I don't seem approchable, you wouldn't be the first to think that."

She shifted uncomfertable and held her arm not sure what to do. She could tell she wanted off the boat. "I am Emerald. I'd rather not talk about anything else." she took a deep breath and her hands lit with fire. She focused and the boat shot to the deck. She stopped firebending and fell backwards onto the floor. She held her side and sat up "we're here." she stood up and leaned on the railing.

Biyu watched her and nodded, trying to understand, not that it was all that hard. She was once in the girls position, and knew how it felt. She saw the fire light up her hands though and her eyes double as herknees buckled ad she wrapped her arm around the railing, heart racing. She stared at the floor boards in terror before she heard the girls announcment. Biyu stayed crouched down, eyes bugging iut. hong slowly walked oveer and patter his Masters back gently, whimpering before Biyu stood up stiffly and tried to dismiss what had just happened.

Tenzin

Tenzin looked at her "Fire is also warmth and life." He told her. He watched Biyu and Emerald exchange a new hello and he walked to the front of the boat, almost falling over as it came to a horrible stop. It bounced against the dock and he moved down to the driver, yelling at him.

Korra

Korra jumped off the boat and was greeted by three children, all bouncy. She smiled as one of them kept asking her questions and the others running around her. "Meet the new guys." She pointed, getting annoyed after awhile. They swarmed around the new group. "Whats your name? Whats your age? Are you a firebender? I like air bending." A small girl talked nonstop in front of Ashiras face. A small boy went over to Emerald, eyeing her suspiciously before giving her a big grin. A older girl, about 12 or so, walked up to the boat and looked around at all the new faces.

She stood and exited the boat seeing herself as a nuisance. "hello.. People..." Emerald waved to them all before she backed up on the dock and ran along the shore until she was a long way from the dock. She sat down on the sand and took off her necklace. She lit it ablaze and set it on the sand. It gave a slight beam, and made pictures out of fire. They started to move, projecting a show. Emerald was looking at memories, memories the necklace had recorded.

Biyu rushed off the boat without hesitation, or a word as to why she did such. She just needed the feel of hard land beneath her feet. Ince the sand touched the base of her foot, she sighed and relaxed far more. She then looked across the beach, at Emerald as she sat alone. She watched her before she slowly made her way over and took seat next to her. Then she nodded to the amulet,"Something of your family?" She asked, her voice suddenly gentle.

Emerald kicked sand over it just before an image came on, the image stopped. She grabbed the amulet and looked away "it's all I have left.. It's everything that's ever happened to me.." she put her hand on her right side gently and still winced. "I never let anyone see it... It explains to much.. Who my father was.. Who my fire master was... Who my fathers best freind was.. Why I don't bend fire much... What happened to my father.. The day I became a bender.. It's all on this stone... And every time I see it... It hurts because I know that.. My father is never coming back..." she wraps her arms around her knees and buried her face in her arm.

Biyu watched her before she sat in the sand next to her. She simply listened, an calmer aura seeming to eminate from her now, conflicting with Emeralds sad one. Biyu didn't say anything, but she looked away from the amulet and out to the city that lie across the deep waters. "Y'know what Emerald, to admit that. Makes you very brave you know. Very admirable. I don't need to know your past, to know that you mean well. I have my reasons for not liking Firebenders, but the reasons are slowly dwindling away. I'm moving on. I won't let my past hold me back any longer. If I had, if you had meant me when I first came, I wouldn't have looked at you. And if you confronted me, I'd try to kill you or run away. Just because of one bad incident." Biyu said before her calm, soothing tone eased into a dusted chuckle.
"I can't say I know how you feel, because everyone handles things like, losing their family, differently. I've lost my family as well, but I still don't know how to move on. Emerald, what you feel now, is completely reasonable. You don't have to make up excuses." She explained, voice gentle as she pulled a rock up and madeit float and weaved it inbetween each finger as she watched it,"Family is family. No one can change that... But families, one thing you can do.." She said before she raised her other hand and put it on her shoulder,"Is make them bigger. All the time."
Biyu felt a soft, knowing smile come to her lips,"Give it time, and in it, you will find it easier. It will all become easier with time. Believe me Emerald. And if you ever need ears to listen, and a mouth to never speak a word of it, you can talk to me. Beifong's honor. I swear it."

Bolin had stuck closely to Korra and Mako during the sail across the bay. As the boat docked, Bolin slipped off down the ramp and grinned as Korra greeted the airbender kids. Of course, they knew him, and Mako, but the rest were utter strangers. Of course they were curious, though Jinora appeared to attempt hiding her curiosity. Pabu hung lazily around Bolin's neck, peering at the airbender kids. "Thanks, Tenzin." he bowed, before straightening up and looking down at Meelo, Ikki and Jinora. "Hey there guys," he grinned, allowing Pabu to scamper down his arm to greet the kids.
