Theo made his way to the only empty desk in the classroom. He was five minutes late, much earlier than usual. Not concerned about academics, he laid his head on the desk and prepared to suffer through another tortuous day of school. His sight started to become fuzzy and blurred, and before he knew it, Theo was asleep.
Theo found himself in an area lacking any sort of structure or light. He felt this place to be familiar, but he couldn't put his finger on where he was. In an attempt to figure out the size of the space, Theo stumbled about, trying to lean against walls that he couldn't locate. His senses were rather hazy, kind of like when he drank too much beer. "Is anybody here?" he croaked. At that, a blinding spotlight landed on Theo. Even though it was bright, he still couldn't see where the walls were. No one appeared for quite a while, and when he thought he'd be alone forever, a girl appeared in the spotlight. Her presence oddly irritated him. "Rosie?" Theo called out, "Where've you been?" He had the memory of waiting for her stuck in his mind. "Nowhere," she answered timidly. He took a deep breath and replied, "You need to tell me where you are at all times. It's important." He staggered his way over to the girl, making her uncomfortable. "What's wrong?" he asked, "Do you like dad more than me?" Theo let out a hearty laugh and stared down Rosie. She did not answer; she only whimpered. "You need to be taught a lesson." Once he said that, a bottle appeared in the girl's hands. "You're the man of the house, Theo," Rosie whispered, "It's your call." "Give me the bottle, Rosie," Theo commanded with a laugh. Just as he was about to smash the girl's fragile head, he saw something out of the corner of his eye. A silhouette in the distance. "Is someone there?" he yelled.
[[My apologies for the massive delay. For Camrose - since she is a catcher just like Carver - should I make her fall asleep, or should she just talk to Carver for awhile?]]
Shot a rabbit from the backseat window,
Sat and watched the summer corn grow,
Ate ice cream in a desert dream,
Got lost in father singing!
Too hot inside
Too hot outside,
Lazy days when he'd say, "Let's go for a ride!"
We'll sail on Spirit Lake,
Just me, my pappy and his lemonade...
