(( I'm very sorry for posting so rarely, especially since my absence is caused simply by my laziness... *deep breath* I'll try to keep my characters doing... something until the foxes arrive in the Lion Kingdom ^^'' [I'm actually pretty annoyed at myself because I quite like this RP...] ))

The night was stiller now. All human life had gone below deck, had left with its sounds, its light, to leave only quiet. It was as if the night watch above in the crow's nest had fallen asleep. The waves could speak now, finally they could whisper. There could now be smoke coming out of a single man's cigarette to lift slowly away. The sky was moonless, clouded, starless, and so the lanterns that lit the deck were all the sparks that the darkness lacked. Paper spheres, the softest glow, the warmest light, the golden color of fire, of a fruit. Even the sound of dice and talking was a faded memory from above the deck: was forgotten.
Rune did not hum the song that was in her mind, she breathed it. Her lungs slowly waltzed with every beat and although no sound was made, the tune was clear in her. It was a song that had to be quiet. It was a song about rowing, about ripples of dark water, about fate. It was the song of the people who laugh at fate, the people who fate kills and the smirks on their dead faces which fate can never erase. It was a slow, strong melody: quiet.
Rune turned around, for the first time that evening leaving the front of the ship. It was like waking up but she was going to sleep. The quarter deck had a long wooden bench that bended with the balustrade at its extremity. The sailor in charge of lighting had placed numerous lanterns around it, bathed it in a soft orange color. The assassin sat. From here she could hear what happened down below. From here she could listen people talk of money, of tunnels, of home. It was what she did here on this ship: she listened.

The sound of the turning page seemed excessively loud in the empty room. It was truly late now, royals, court, servants and footmen slept. One of them read.
The lamp that cast its light down into the room from the ceiling seemed to be peacefully asleep, its yellow light only accentuating the bronze-like aspects of the pots and pans. Nothing moved. From time to time a page would flip, the servant's chair would creak lazily then silence would return. It was as if the objects of the kitchen were listening, like an audience of mesmerized children in front of a story teller, perfectly silent, leaned forward to grasp every scrap of the tale that was being told.
Only a few of the servants knew that Vel read. The ones who did not know did not wonder. The color, the size, the age, thickness, subject of the books she brought in changed every few days. She read them patiently, once, twice maybe, made them her friends and respectfully closed their leather covers before returning them. Yes, respect was what the young servant had for those books. Her dull golden eyes skipping over their words were the same that smiled calmly to the other servants, amiable, modest. She was thankful for their rough dry pages. She seemed sure that without them she would have gone insane a very long time ago. She paid for the extra candles herself.
((I really hope wowhow would post... /:
Krona- Saeli wrote a recap a page or two back.
Saeli wrote:(( Right now the two tiger princesses (Shaily and Vanendra) are head to the uh... Panthers.. I can't believe I forget. It's either the panther or leopard kingdom. The fox princess (Mable) is going to the Lion Kingdom to propose an alliance. There's not really anything happening in the other kingdoms.
I'm also very bad at recaps...))
