For hundreds of years, the war has been raging on the magical planet of Xena. The riders and their loyal dragons have fought bravely over the millennium, driving back the enemy only to be invaded time and time again. No village, town, or city is safe; not even the capital, Korok. It all began when Julius Morand was king...

Julius Morand, a noble elf and dragon rider, was crowned king of Xena a hundred years before the Thousand Year War began. He brought a sense of order to the planet, marking dragon riders as the protectors of the peace and innocent. Although his rival, Khan Mallou, wasn't as happy about the coronation as other citizens. He was so jealous and angry that the Elder Council didn't choose him as king that he decided to tear Xena down and rebuild a new civilization. However, his followers on the planet were few, and he was no match against the dragon riders. So, he needed an army. A species from another planet that would be intent on conquering the planet for their own uses or studies, but one that was dumb enough for him to control with a sprinkle of his sorcery. And that is how it began.

With his skilled magic, Khan managed to open a portal, but it only provided one very confused human. Holding the young woman known as Silver Wellwood hostage, he cast a spell over her that made her aging process stop altogether, making her immortal. Frozen at the age of nineteen, Silver was amazed and scared of all the magical properties of Xena, and spent her time in that lonely cell reading book after book that Khan had provided. After much questioning about the human race over the next ten years, Khan finally struck gold. He had been perfecting his magic to keep a portal open long enough, and had learned so much. Apparently, humans were very vulnerable and only a select few were intelligent, like Silver. No super reflexes like the elves and sprites of Xena - they didn't even have a quarter of the magical animals here! Which meant they had no knowledge of dragons. But, Silver had said, there were myths and quite a few believed in fairy tales.

Five years after a conversation about human beliefs and nature, Khan finally showed Silver the world of Xena. They traveled quite far, all over the planet - but then things went terribly wrong. They encountered a patrol of dragon riders in the small, yet well-known town of Zuran - one of the few places that exported the high-demand kuka fruits. The leader of the patrol, a male elf named Tallik - almost a hundred years old; but a teen in elf standards - instantly recognized the villainous Khan as the man who had destroyed many cities in the past and was about to order an attack when his purple gaze fell on Silver. Startled by a creature so humanoid, yet foreign, his orders caught in his throat and the pair escaped before his squad could pursue. Ever since the encounter, young Silver had been in love with dragons.

These minor details are very significant in our story of the beginning of the Thousand Year War, as our test human had formed a crush on Tallik and grew an admiration for dragons. This wasn't apart of Khan's plan. After three more years of fruitless interrogation, he decided to travel to the planet Earth, which was a few galaxies away. No wonder it was such a strain to open a portal in the first place. Trusting the human girl to be good, the elf left. And he would never return.

By now, elfin King Julius read the report sent in by Tallik Firewalker - our adolescent dragon rider from the patrol - and called for immediate action. This unknown humanoid species seen with Khan must be captured and studied by Xena's top scientists to see if it was a threat to the planet. Silver's hiding place, along with Khan's labs and illegally caught dragons, were discovered, and the human girl taken into the custody of the authorities. It was also discovered that she was immortal, and all the other sorcerers/sorceresses couldn't lift the spell. In court, she was judged guilty of aiding an enemy and felon of Xena. Then an elf spoke up. Who other than Tallik? After one long year, she was proved innocent, not knowing that Khan was a villain. Still, the sorcerer didn't return. And they forgot all about the whole human army plot. They couldn't have been more stupid.

In years to come, it would be discovered that Khan was dead - killed by the humans themselves; but the sorcerer forgot to close the portal. Silver became the first human dragon rider on Xena when a dragoness chose her as its rider on one of the many walks the girl took with Tallik. Amenti, the dragoness was named, and the human taught how to ride and fight. Then, the disaster.

Tallik was almost a hundred and thirty years old - still a teen in elf terms - when he decided that he wanted Silver to be more than his best friend and fellow dragon rider. He would never get the chance to ask, because that very night every elf, dwarf, goblin, troll, dragon, and every other creature on Xena heard the same thing; a roar of a million voices braying for blood. The human invasion began. Julius Morand, the king, sent the thousands of dragon riders to meet the enemy, prepping the cities of Xena for battle. No one was safe. The next morning, Tallik was brought back to his house in the tiny village of Guapa, where Silver lived because she had no where else to go. The human rushed outside, only to find her friend dying from a fatal wound to his chest. Not even a master medical warlock could fix that. His dragon was slowly dying too, whimpering and stumbling as it carried its master and set him down on the ground. His purple eyes brightened when he saw Silver, and he whispered, "I love you." With one last shudder, his eyelids fluttered closed and his dragon toppled over, a noble elfin warrior gone.

Now, Silver is craving for revenge, not the innocent and stupid girl she was almost a hundred years ago when she was brought to Xena. She turned on her own race, enraged by what had happened. And she got on Amenti and flew far away to recruit more dragon riders. They would pay.

Will you join Silver Wellwood, the first human to ever ride a dragon, in her conquest to drive the humans back to Earth? Or are you apart of the human army that is determined to kill off the elfin race, along with the other minor species on Xena? Maybe you're a hostage, tortured for military information. Or, the worst of all, you're apart of the rebellion; a large organization of dragon riders that have turned on the Code of Peace and are fighting to purge Xena of the filthy humans, even Silver, led by the sinister Domovoi. Choose your path, and choose wisely.

• This is a semi-literate role play, so that means 5+ sentences per character. For example, let's say you have two characters named Johnny and Karen. When role playing with Johnny, he needs 5 sentences. Same goes for Karen. And they must be complete sentences.

  Johnny smiled genuinely at the auburn-haired girl, waving to her briefly before turning around and walking away, back towards his dorm. He really liked the newbie, daydreaming as his deep blue eyes stared off into space, automatically opening the door without effort. The raven-haired teen flopped down on his bed, trying to concentrate on his math homework. Word problems. No matter how hard he tried, he just couldn't think about the numbers or words or what 40 of 320 was. This was hopeless.

  
  Okay, yeah. That was a bit lengthy because I got carried away. But it showed what he was feeling, a bit of what he was seeing, thinking, doing. Over 3 sentences. Most are complete. As long as a majority of the post is complete sentences, I don't mind fragments like "Word problems." I do understand writer's block, but you should be able to squeeze a decent 3 or 4 sentences into a post. Listen to some music to bring your muse back, or grab a sheet of paper and brainstorm ideas. Also, Viney has had a tendency to post less than required because I've been having headache problems lately. Sorry!
  
  
• Proper grammar, spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and format. Grammar is required, but if your character is rather silly (like me in real life), they can use improper grammar when thinking and/or speaking.

  Spelling is self-explanatory. If you're like me, where you type pretty fast and some letters get mixed up, it's perfectly fine. I do it all the time.
  Capitalization. Another pet peeve of mine. I see so many role players who do this.

Elves
This species is the most common on Xena, and most of the dragon riders are elves. This race is strictly vegetarian, but they are known to interbreed with other humanoid species, creating omnivorous or even carnivorous offspring. They can be highly emotional for a whole month every decade, where their magic does a full cleansing of their mind and body to purge physical and mental illness, remove scars (unless they do not wish for certain ones to be wiped away), and does a check on emotions and bodily functions; so spasms are also common. It usually happens on the month of their birth. Elf characteristics include pointy ears that can be up to a 1 foot long, slim figure (males usually have broad shoulders), and long legs. They can be considerably tall. No dominant gender of the species. They can come in all sorts of colors; red hair, red skin, multi-colored, etc. Elves also have minor magic, which includes; healing strong enough to mend broken bones or ruptured organs, the gift of tongues (speak any language), and charmspeak (where they can persuade others to do their bidding). However, there are a select few with stronger powers, such as telepathy, mindreading, element bending, etc. Elves can only produce two children once every decade, and they mate for life.
The average elf can live to be three thousand years old, since their healing powers slow down their aging process drastically.
Elder = 2000+ years
Adult = 1000-2000 years
Young Adult = 500-1000 years
Teenager = 100-500 years
Child = 0-100 years



Elemental Sprites
Elemental sprites are the second most common species on Xena, but it's rare to see one be chosen to be a dragon rider. They are mainly omnivorous, and don't usually interbreed with other species, but will mate with sprites of a different element. Most prefer to stay in a climate that matches their element, so winter sprites like to stay in the polar caps of Xena where it's cold, fire sprites like to live in the volcanic areas, water sprites like oceans and rivers and so on. They come in all shapes and sizes; some have pointy ears, some are short, etc. However, one physical trait represents their element, whether it be brown eyes for an earth sprite, or green hair for a nature sprite. Their only magic is the power to manipulate their element. Can produce up to four children once every five years and they do not mate for life.
The average sprite lives to be a thousand years.
Elder = 800+ years
Adult = 500-800 years
Young Adult = 200-500 years
Teen = 75-200 years
Child = 0-75 years


Wolvans
One of the more rarer species on Xena, the Wolvan species is strictly limited to tribes and various villages all connected in forests all over the planet. Even rarer for one to be a dragon rider. They are the closest species to humans on Xena, as they are born the same way and display similar behavior. However, they are born with an indestructible skeleton that cannot be melted, broken, bended, etc. At birth, they display traits of a certain animal - their spirit animal, as the tribe leaders say - and are given their claws at the age of ten. To receive their claws, the tribe leader must decide which animal they were most like as a child. Then they choose an appropriate mold for that animal and cut deep into the flesh on their wrists, quickly placing the mold. Their blood is the molten form of their skeleton and flows into the mold, hardening as soon as it comes in contact with air. The mold is taken off and bolts are placed in the claws to keep them there. The claws are now forever with the wearer; and the process is extremely painful. Although this species is very tough and hard to kill with weapons, their ultimate enemy is plant life. Yes, they do live in the forest, but if they ingest a plant, it can be fatal. Strictly a carnivorous species, the chlorophyll in plants are lethal to their digestive system. Cannot interbreed with another species, for their genetics refuse to combine with those of a different species. Can only produce one child every hundred years. Do not mate for life. Have really good reflexes and predatory instincts.
The average Wolvan lives to be two hundred years old.

Adult = 120-175 years
Young Adult = 70-120 years
Teen = 13-70 years
Child = 0-13 years


Sorcerers/Sorceresses
Also known as wizards/witches, this species is very humanoid and are immortal with special powers. Rare on Xena, they are not known to be chosen as dragon riders, as they have other methods of fighting. They specialize in light and dark magic, dabbling in the medical fields that they somehow cannot master. Can conjure up objects, lock things magically, animate lifeless objects; and the masters can even bring back the dead! Most of them serve under King Julius Morand, and are basically the scientists of Xena that study other species and make new discoveries. Can interbreed, but their powers cannot be passed onto their offspring if their mate is something other than a sorcerer/sorceress. Do not mate for life, and mostly omnivorous.
Can live forever and is hard to kill.
Elder = 1 million+ years
Adult = 4000-1 million years
Young Adult = 21-4000 years
Teen = 13-21 years
Child = 0-13 years


Nekos
Uncommon species on Xena, yet rare to see as dragon riders on Xena. They are a race that can be found in the biggest of cities to the smallest of villages. They have the ears and tail of an animal (unless a bird or fish neko - bird will have wings and fish will have fin ears, fins on back, and tail/gills when in water). Most behave in a human way of their animal, such as a wolf neko barking or cat neko meowing. They haven't any special powers whatsoever and are considered low-class citizens. Have good reflexes and are very intelligent. They act the most like humans and can have a child once every year and can interbreed. Omnivorous species that do not mate for life and has short lifespans. Average neko lives to be a hundred and twenty years old.
Elder = 70+ years
Adult = 30-70 years
Young Adult = 18-30 years
Teen = 13-18 years
Child = 0-13 years


Fairies
Fairies are a very common species on Xena, and almost as common as elves when it comes to being a dragon rider. They are strictly vegetarian and most hate violence. There are many different types of fairy wings; the standard butterfly, the dragonfly, grasshopper, clear ones, etc. Most fairies are colorful, and then there are the select few who are albino or have dark colors. Their only magic is healing, talking to animals, and the gift of tongues. Can interbreed and produces one child every two decades, mate for life.
The average fairy lives to be five hundred years old.
Elder = 400+ years
Adult = 250-400 years
Young Adult = 100-250 years
Teen = 20-100 years
Child = 0-20 years


Humans
We should all know about them. Vulnerable, not as intelligent as the magical species on Xena, invaders.

Shapeshifters
Uncommon species on Xena, very common as dragons riders. Shapeshifters have the unique ability to change into any animal imaginable. From dragons to snakes, deer to cougars, anything! However, these shifters on Xena have a special requirement; they need to have touched the animal at least once to change into it. Mate for life and produces one child every five years.
Elder = 300+ years
Adult = 200-300 years
Young Adult = 60-100 years
Teen = 15-60 years
Child = 0-15 years

Appearance:
Silver is a beautiful girl with long, white hair and red eyes (effects from the spell that made her immortal). Is about 5' 5" and has a very slim figure and long legs. Usually wears what is shown in the picture with a black belt that holds all her daggers, her sword, and a quiver on her back and bow. Has the name 'Tallik' tattooed on her bosom (right above a her chest, and right below the base of her neck). Always wear black and white boots that come up to her knees.
Personality:
Silver is much different than the shy and curious girl she used to be back when she first came to Xena. Now, she is an aggressive human with an attitude and craving for revenge on Tallik's murder. She can be very sarcastic, rude, and doesn't joke around a lot; very serious. No matter how annoying she can be, she has an aura of authority about her and knows the limits of her ribbing. Intelligent, she never underestimates her enemies and allies, and is always looking for new recruits for the Warriors of Peace. Loves to fight and is pretty skilled with daggers, a bow, and a sword. Her soft side rarely shows, and on the inside she's just a broken hearted little girl that wants "the one" to show up and help mend her wounds. Adrian is every bit the nasty tempered male that you'd expect Silver to own. He isn't afraid to bite at other dragons or even his humanoid allies; dislikes almost all elves for some reason. Thinks much differently than his kind does and had been isolated because of that since he was a hatchling; resents his brethren for doing that to him. Can't socialize properly and has as much rude sarcasm as his rider. They're a perfect match. Very serious and only has a soft side for Silver; of which he won't show in public or he'll ruin his reputation of being a tough dragon.
History:
Was born to Silver's former dragon, Amenti, and a black dragon named Shadow. Grew up being trained to obey orders and become a rider's dragon. When Amenti died, Adrian's instincts made him choose his mother's former rider as his own. Has been Silver's dragon ever since.

Dom is a rather handsome and fit elf that stands at 6' 6" tall with pointed ears that are 6 inches long. His eyes are a deep chocolate brown and his hair shaggy and black. His skin is pale and it's obvious that he trains a lot by his abs and muscles. Usual attire is usually a worn jacket, pants, and old shirt with various armored plates all over his body and black hunting boots. His belt holds an assortment of weapons, including his twin swords, daggers, knives, even a gun confiscated from a human, and a special whistle that will send the nearest pack of wild dragons flying towards the enemy in a fit of rage from an ultrasonic sound that annoys them greatly. His twin swords are made of pure diamond melted down so fine that it looks like regular steel - virtually indestructible - and usually are in the custom made sheathes on his back for easy usage.
Personality:
Dom is a sinister and evil elf that not only wishes to purge the magical planet of Xena of humans, but also non-riders. That means if you don't ride a dragon, then he hates you and has the deepest desire to murder you in the dead of night. However murderous and violent he may seem, Dom is a rather intelligent teen that considers himself on a higher social class than others, considering his royal blood and wealthy upbringing. He's been spoiled and loves to fight, always dreamed to be a rider. Very responsible and meets the demands of his followers, but is very sly and a great liar. Manipulates others to get what he wants and can be very seductive when it comes to females; although he is not at all interested in finding a mate until the war is over. Mature despite his persona and is loyal to only himself and his cause.
History:
Domovoi was born to Frond Morand (sister of King Julius Morand - deceased, killed by human raid) and Jasper Zavier (son of the king's adviser - deceased, killed by human raid) in the small village of Guapa around the same time the legendary Tallik Firewalker was born. He grew up in the villa on Junip Hill, which was expanded over the first ten years of his life into a huge estate. He was raised in a wealthy household with anything at his disposal; toys, books, etc. He spent most of his time on excerising and reading. Then came the fighting and training. At the age of thirteen, he went for a walk through the village below with his peasant friend, Maurice. Back then, he was only a child wanting to learn everything about fighting techniques and the world; not the murderer we all know. They were heading down to the forest with their bows to hunt some game to sell to the old elf-sprite hybrid down by Junip Creek. That's when an enormous black shape blotted out the sun and a mighty red dragon landed before them, baring her glinting white teeth. In a taloned hand, she held a small red egg that she put down, approaching the two elves. Dom and Maurice stood perfectly still as she circled them, sniffing and ruffling up their hair and blowing in their faces. This was one of the more ancient choosing rituals where a dragon already belonging to a rider gave away one sole egg to the next generation. The mighty beast grabbed the egg in her jaws and set in at Dom's feet before shooting into the sky again. That night Domovoi's family expanded their estate to accommodate the dragon that would hatch in a few weeks' time.
Then, only last year when Dom was 126 years old, he committed a very important murder the morning the humans invaded. He killed Tallik Firewalker because he thought the elf was a disgrace to their race; living with that human girl, Silver! In his mind, he was doing Xena justice.

Vernill is much like his rider, Domovoi, considering that they have a telepathic link like every rider has with their own dragon. He was raised to fight and survive harsh conditions, training with his master every day for the past century or so. Although, he has a sense of pride in himself and gives all of his loyalty to his rider only. They share a very special bond. Vernill is more of an old-fashioned dragon that believes in Code of Peace, and it's hard for him to murder, but somehow Dom can always persuade him to do these dastardly deeds.

James is just your average, good-looking guy that stands at 5' 11" and has a slightly muscular figure. His eyes are a striking teal hue with black bangs that always seems to be falling in his face and slightly tanned skin. His hands are always bandaged, but still calloused from his constant usage of guns and swords. The dogtag necklace shown in the first picture used to belong to Silver Wellwood; a token his great grandfather had passed down for three generations ever since Silver went missing. This is the appearance his allies see.
The second picture shown is his alias, Nightlock. He wears the mask and outfit whenever he leaves the shelter of the human army camps and into the world of Xena. Outfit is complete with hidden guns in his black boots and a sword strapped to his belt; dogtag necklace hidden under his armor.
Personality:
Despite his serious appearances as himself and his alias (Nightlock), James is a rather laid back guy with a great sense of humor. Ask anyone; he's the type who loves a good laugh and likes to tease other in a playful way. He doesn't like violence much, but enjoys using his talents at shooting and swordfighting; even if it means having to kill some of the fascinating creatures on Xena. Is a very curious soul who would rather fight against the humans than help them, but his whole family expects him to help bring Earth to a victory over the magical planet. His emotions can eb conflicting sometimes, causing him to lash out at others for no real reason. This temper flares don't last very long - half an hour, at the most. He is friendly to all - has actually apologized to those he's had to kill - yet loyal to his family and close friends. Doesn't believe that Silver is still alive - all this immortality stuff isn't real, right? Can be a flirt at times, msotly just to screw around. James can be a tad perverted at times, but come on; he's almsot an adult now, and he's a guy. Can you really blame him?
History:
James grew up on Earth, and it was only last year when the war with Xena started. Since he was sixteen at the time, he was taken otu of school and sent to a training compound where he learned so much about the military and how to fight against the Xenians (lol). This year - after 12 whole months of agonizing training and building up muscle - he has been assigned to a squad that specializes in stealth missions, even though he works alone msot of the time.
