*~ Male II 29 II Finger II Soon to asassinate ~*
The soft glow from the moon overhead cast the shadows of the night to stretch long and wide. A blessing to any assassin, as Greeve walked silently within these shadows of the village nearby. An assignment was given out by one of the villagers and he took up the task mainly due to the high pay it was offering. One of the many earls was visiting this quaint town and now was the perfect time to dispose of the man who taxed heavily upon his lands. Although he may have been known as a tyrant to some ,that was not why Greeve had chosen to kill the man, though it did provide a hint of pleasure to the deed. The earl was staying in one of the larger town homes as Greeve scaled a nearby wall and alighted on it's rooftop. The house was two stories tall and made of fine wood, although the shingles could do with some repair, as he carefully made his way across to the inner courtyard. Some candles illuminated the garden below and the familiar image of his target stood talking to a nearby guard. This would prove to be a more messy kill since there were four guards total but it could not be helped as time was of the essence. He gathered himself for the plunge as he released his hidden blade and dropped below onto an unsuspecting guard.
Time now appeared to be going slower as adrenaline rushed his veins and he plunged his hidden blade into the guard's aorta neck vein, killing the man almost instantly as he bled quickly to the floor. Rushing forward, another guard turned only to be met with Greeve's long sword plunged through his chest cavity and tumbling down dead. Now the other two guards were on full alert as the first tried to pierce him with a twelve foot pike. However, Greeve was able to nimbly dodge the attack by just inches while also forcing the pike into the guards comrade. Watching the horror stuck face of what had just happened, the last guard had little time to grieve as Greeve slammed the mans head down on his knee and then effectively snapping his neck. The rush was now over in what lasted only a few moments as four guards lay dead and the earl cowered before him on his knees. "P-please, don't kill me! You can take anything, kill my family first but just leave me be!" Greeve was not amused as he stared down at the cowering figure, his hood covered his dark features and only a few strands of his silver hair had gotten loose during the fight. It was always sickening to see his targets cower but worse then that he despised when they offered up their own family's instead. "It is people such as yourself that do not deserve the right to live..." Greeve's voice was hoarse but deep as he spoke softly to the earl "May your gods show mercy upon your pitiful life." A short scream was cut off as Greeve lopped the man's head from his body. Only taking the earl's emblem to prove his kill to his employer, he quickly and silently left the premises before the other guards could see the damage.
Greeve had had enough of this little town ,and promptly acquired his steed he had borrowed from the assassins, from the outskirts of the forests. He knew an alarm would be sounded at the earls death but the job was done and he would soon report back to his employer for payment. The rolling fields and forests landscape passed him by as he urged the mount to move swiftly into the night to where the last known location was of the person who hired him. Pulling the horse to a stop at a nearby crossroads, a cloaked figure appeared nearby. It was clearly a female as she spoke softly and handed him a rather large pouch of gold "For your efforts assassin. I assume you killed the man?" Greeve took the pay and placed it within his own cloak "The deed is done. You will be hearing of it soon enough." A small smile could be barely see but the woman merely nodded and faded back into the shadows. Greeve soon turned away as well and back towards the base which was not too far off. He followed all the roads and markers only known to the assassins as he made his way back. Looking up only briefly to see the base outlined against a now pale morning sky, he noticed a figure standing in the towers but brought his attention back to the doors as they opened for one of their assassins. The feeling of being home was a relief but usually short lived as he dismounted his horse and gave it to one of the stable hands. Greeve decided to take this opportunity to rest as the sun began to peak and the skies turned a soft hue of orange and blue.
