"Really?" Miranda said, blinking in surprise. She'd had a general idea of a gryphon's flight and stamina ability, but she had never known them to be like humans, stronger or weaker to one side... or, in this current case, equally strong on either side. "I'm left-handed, myself... but challenge me in any area except writing, and you wouldn't know," she said with a slight smirk. She liked this gryphon- strong, proud but not intolerably full of himself, and intelligent. And it seemed the two of them were getting on quite well, always a plus. Well... why shouldn't they stick together?
"I'm certain you're aware of the situation we all share- we must find a partner, for the expedition to Luren? I believe we would make a good team, you and I. Especially considering some of the... other sorts we have about," she said, casting a disapproving look over towards Flint.
"Well? What do you say, Occisor?"

"Oh, of course you can talk!" Flint said, giving his bladed tail a brief wag against the dirt, scraping away a rather large section of grass. "Oh... er... s-sorry...", he muttered, looking at the ground and rolling his sphere of quartz along the ground. "Anyway, yes! It's nice to meet you, human, what's your name?" he asked, smiling and looking at Danika. "I don't know if you've heard, I'm Flint!"
He paused, looking over at Drake as he spoke about preferring a dragon.
"Ah... rather untrue," Flint said, shifting his wings. "Not all dragons are even scaled, I'm certainly not," he explained, leaning forwards so the humans could get a good look. Indeed, Flint didn't have any scales- his skin was smooth and seemed somewhat thick, very similar in toughness and texture to the armor the human students themselves wore.
