Rachelle smelled another wolf. She jogged around a corner and smacked into Damon. "Jeeze!" she gasped, backing up and feeling herself shift halfway before phasing back. "Sorry, friend, I'm on the edge. I always shift at night just before the end of the month. My senses are going AWOL." She grinned, her bravado only because no matter who was in this area, if they were a wolf they were under her command. "I am Rachelle, but hopefully soon you'll be calling me Ma'am as I am very close to change. Just haven't quite gotten it."
Emmett looked at his mother, watched her bustle about doing totally random, useless things like straitening already ruler strait pictures on the wall and opening and closing all the doors in the house three times. Then, her floor length, long sleeved night gown had to be examined for any loose threads before she'd go into her bathroom and shower and change then crawl into bed, Sprinkles snuggling up to her chest, and fall asleep. Emmett stood up, wondering where his sister was, and walked out of the house to be a teenager for an hour or so. He'd given his mother her sleeping medicine, so she'd be out for the rest of the night. Amber's car was parked a block down, she was kicked back in the passenger side seat, her feet on her dash and everything around her vibrating with the sound of harsh metal music that was blaring from her speakers. He slid in the drivers side and sat back.
Amber, popping the huge bubble she'd been working on and pulling the gum back into her mouth, leaned over and kissed him. "Where to babe?" she asked, sitting back in her seat again.
