"Five seconds. Please step onto your plates. Please step onto your plates."
You board the silver plate. The glass door closes and your last view before the arena is that small room where you had your last words with your stylist. Slowly, slowly. As you emerge, the arena is just as new as always.

10...9...8...7...6...5...4...3...2...

Let the 84th Hunger Games begin!

Welcome to the 84th Hunger Games!
Welcome one and all to the 84th Hunger Games! As we all know, last year's victors were Josslyn Foxwood from District 9 and Grant Odair from District 4! What a great show that was! This year, the arena is split into fourths and is perfectly round with our signature electromagnetic field to make sure the tributes don't escape. It is featuring the four seasons; spring, summer, autumn, and winter. The winter terrain is an unforgiving section of the arena with the bitter cold, predators, and practically no shelter; however, it is a great place to wait out the Games. The spring terrain is your best chance of survival, with so many edible plants and animals in season with plenty of shelter and fresh water, but be careful; more animals mean more predators and tributes. The autumn terrain is more forgiving than the winter terrain with a good combination of shelter, fresh water, and animals to hunt, but not as many edible plants are in season; which means even less herbs for healing. Last but not least, the summer terrain is just as relentless as the winter terrain with an unbearably hot sun and skyrocketing temperatures; not a lot of water but plenty of shade and the nights are very cool, perfect for hunting. All Districts will be able to watch the whole bloodbath, LIVE, on the special announcements TVs in their village squares! Recaps of throughout the game and recent events will be given nightly and letters sent to the families of the tributes who have died, followed by the tribute's body in a coffin over the nest few days so they can bury them. Thank you and may the odds ever be in your favor!

Dangerous Animals
Enhanced Wolves - Horrid creatures that may look pretty normal, but have many terrifying features. They have dagger-like teeth, each tooth is 2-4 inches long, and two saber fangs that can easily reach over 1 foot, jutting out from their lips menacingly. Their eyes reflect their mood, such as red for angry, blue for sad, purple for hunting mode, and so on. They cannot be tamed unless you find their weak spot and manage to pinch the cluster of nerves, which is right under their front legs where the chest and shoulders meet. This is a very risky task and can only be performed by the most flexible and quick of tributes. This species is strictly carnivorous and will eat anything with a heartbeat and flesh. They can run like a cheetah for over three miles at a time and they're unnaturally strong.
Jabbyjays - They are a specially mutated breed of birds made for the purpose of spying. They can recite long phrases of conversations, screams, tunes, songs, and almost any other noise. Most of them here have been trained to recite computer-generated screams of the tributes' loved ones. They "attack" by flocking together and chorusing their lines all at one time, hopefully to overwhelm the tribute(s). Herbivorous creatures that have no other way of really harming anyone.
Rat Possums - Another specially created species that has the body of a possum, but the speed, nose, and hearing of a rat. It is drawn to any source of food, particularly that of the tributes', and does whatever it can to steal it. They can get very plump, but cannot be eaten or the consumer will contract a nasty disease and die within days. Symptoms of the disease is coughing up blood, blistering, fever, chills, and shortness of breath.
Spider Monkeys - Not the real things though. They are the size of a regular monkey but with thousands of eyes like a spider and they have four arms, two legs. They're tails are over 2 feet long and they can climb faster than any other living creature in Panem. They are armed with razor-sharp claws, 5 toes on each hand/foot, and their fur color is a breathtaking lavender with tan faces and emerald green eyes. They seem perfectly harmless but will attack if you come too close to their nesting tree. Herbivorous creatures, but if they can kill a tribute they will try to consume the corpse until a hovercraft retrieves it.
Giant Mosquitoes - Cliche, but very effective in keeping things at a smooth pace. They would come up to your knees if they could stand with needle-like noses/mouths that are at least 1-2 feet long. They're wings are transparent and they can become a blur while flying at great speeds. Can suck up to 1 pint of blood in one round. Is scared off by fire and water. Hard to kill without a skilled archer.
Tracker Jackers - Deadly wasps that were made by the Capitol and placed around the districts during the first rebellion. They are larger than regular wasps and have a gold-colored body. Their stings raise lumps the size of plums on their victims, and their venom (engineered to target fear in a victim's brain and alter their memories)causes hallucinations that can drive people to madness. More than a few stings will kill a person; some people die after just one. These mutts will also hunt down anyone who disturbs their nest and attempt to kill them, hence the name tracker jackers.

Dangerous Environmental Things
Tribute River - Although a great source of water, be very careful when drinking or bathing in it. When the sun is directly above head, midday, or the moon is, midnight, the water turns to crimson with blood, from past tributes' blood. When this happens, the water will not return to normal until sunset/dawn, so it is only useful twice a day.
Python Vines - A beautiful specimen made by the Capitol scientists. It took months to develop and perfect its characteristics, but it was all worthwhile. These vines are more alive than any other plant, and actually slither across the ground like snakes. They are a lush green with neon red diamond patterns and small leaves here and there. When it finds prey, thorns pop out all along its length as it wraps itself tightly around the victim, suffocating and injuring them. When dead, acidic chemicals seep out of the thorns to suck the nutrients out of the body to be used by the plant.
Quick Sand - Self-explanatory. Is most commonly found underwater, where someone least expects it.

(( I guess we post from the Arena? *missed the hearfelt goodbyes XD* ))

Alou stood on her plate, tensed forward. As the counter ticked, her grey eyes scanned the other tributes, looking to see where everyone was. Adrian, of course, was to her immediate right, and the boy from twelve her left, in order. She looked down the circle, spotting Isla and Brady next to each other. Jace was over to her left a few spaces. As the timer got to five seconds, her eyes went to the Cornucopia. There, in the center. Knives, throwing type if she knew her blades. A fierce smile caressed her face. Finally, she heard the final count, and then, the Hunger Games began. Dashing into the center, she went full throttle forward. Immediatly, she managed to grab the knife and turn around, brandishing it, ready. ((Gale, want me to finish off Grace now? LOL.))

Blake chewed his lip, nervous. To his left was Karen, his eyes swimming with worry. He nodded to her reassuringly, but more to make himself feel better. Across from him was the District One and Two tributes, looking as menacing as ever. When the final ticker counted down, he hesitated, looking at Karen as everyone bounded off their plates.
((Whoever wants to kill Blake, feeleth free.))

((Time to begin >=3 I CALL GRACE BEING KILLED FIRST!))

Grace drew in a breath upon seeing the arena. It was magnificent! Every detail was complex, and it felt as if her whole time in the arena would never be enough to soak it all in. Even if she did win, the entire arena would never be fully explored by her. Not that I will win, of course. Oh no! The gong had sounded and Grace was still on her plate, caught off in a daze. She looked around frantically, and before coming to her senses, ran toward the Cornicopia. Tributes were already there, writhing and thrashing around. Then, a glint caught her eye. It was the flash of a spear. It was already taken, but drew her attention to the unclaimed rope nearby. I could use that! She began to run towards it, ducking under the spear. That's when she stumbled into a boy. Grace looked up to see a much older boy. [Blake]. She stumbled back, her arms crossing to form an X. She let out a squeak of fear, closing her eyes tightly.

Grant sat in his room, brushing some bronze hair from his face. He wasn't allowed to be in the final departure room with Braden or Isla, and the boy couldn't help but wonder if he'd trained them enough. I've been distracted... He sighed, staring up at the television. Bring two more District Four victors out. Please. Grant prayed, leaning forward. His eyes remained locked on the television, trying to keep focus on the tributes. Don't let the Careers betray them. Not now. Not now. Then, Hershi caught his eye. Okay. Let there be three victors total. Wait- did they pair up with Hershi? Grant scanned back to when he asked Braden about their allies. Alou...Jace... and some others. No Hershi. Why didn't I say to ally with Hershi? He shook his head, but didn't once draw his gaze from the television.

((Yes, kill Grace! >=D))
