The blue-eyed mentor was in her room wearing a simple black tanktop with matching short shorts, her long auburn hair in ponytail as she lay on her stomach, flipping through the Capitol channels without actually watching them. Her mind was elsewhere; specifically her duties, Hershi, and, of course, Grant. The Capitol had obvious intentions to drive Grant and her apart when she was hijacked during the Victory Tour when they won the Games; would it happen again if they displayed their affection for each other on the cameras? Yes. I have no doubt that there is a likely possibility that they'll try to hijack me again, especially after my comments abotu hating the Capitol and the Games last year, she thought with a nod, rolling onto her back to stare at the ceiling. How was she going to tell Grant? In private, where no cameras can see us. He'll understand. How was he going to react when she gave him the cold shoulder at the introduction of the tributes to the Capitol? Confused. Definitely. I'll have to explain everything. With a sigh, she closed her eyes, knowing that being a mentor must be making Grant feel terrible, too. At least none of his siblings - and he didn't have any, lucky Fishboy - was going to compete in these cruel Games.

The auburn-haired boy sat in his chair, shifting nervously every few minutes as he ate, the escort sitting at the other end of the table. He wished his older sister would have attended to dinner; then he wouldn't be left with a much smaller - yet younger by 3 years - girl that didn't seem to trust him one bit to socialize with. Hershi looked up when Grace walked in, offering her a friendly smile before looking down at his food, silent. Instead of actually eating anymore, he was pushing the food around his plate with a fork, absorbed into thought. It'd be a miracle if he could get out of the Games as a victor. But what if you don't? The question echoed through his mind like a catchy tune on those stupid Capitol commercials he was watching earlier about hair dues, cars for sale, announcements about the Hunger Games. It was so strange on the train.
(Gale, Magic; are we watching the Reapings for the District 4 tributes, or eating dinner? XD)
(Um, how about dinner first, so nobody is depressed by the Reapings?)

"After dinner, we'll watch the Reapings, and then get started on training. And, just some pre-training advice, don't do anything to irritate one another. I expect you to work as a team." Grant explained. He glanced over his shoulder toward the room that was supposed to be his for the time being. Looking back to the tributes mid-statement, he said, "Now, I'm sure Dolores will go all Capitol on you if you arrive late, and you don't want to Capitol-ified, or whatever. So, I guess I'll see you when it's time for the Reapings." As he turned to walk into the bedroom, Grant mumbled, half to himself, "Plus, I'm not gonna eat that crap anymore."
Once in the Capitol designed room, he immediately went to laying on the bed, staring up at the ceiling. The silence was okay, something Grant had been appreciating recently. I wonder who else got picked... He thought. Also, a default to silence was that he finally had time to think. Normally, he'd hated this in just about every class he took at school, but it was worse here. Now, his thoughts were filled, and jumbled. I wonder how Josslyn's doing. Will I make a good mentor? What if neither tribute comes out alive? Will District Four hate me then? How will the Capitol react to me as mentor? Will it be like my dad? What's Josslyn up to right now? Is she excited? I'd assume not. Is she hating this as much as I am? Probably more. I wonder who got picked in her District. How will the Career pack treat Braden and Isla? Will they hate them for my little stunt last year? I bet they've been trained to. What if their first kills are supposed to be the two tributes from Four? Hey, what if I got Josslyn's tributes to form an alliance with ine? That might work. How will Braden and Isla react to the Reapings? Other tributes? What if it horrifies them? What if they refuse to train with each other? They need to get along. What if they don't? What if Josslyn's different? How will the Capitol react to our lovers thing again? So, my District thought I was faking the star-crossed lover bit? Did Josslyns? What if- Grant broke from his engulfment of thoughts with a splitting headache.
~Grace~
Grace entered the room, glancing up from the floor just in time to see Hershi offer a smile in her direction. The girl didn't respond, keeping a straight face. Her eyes looked over the table, scanning for empty seats. Two. One was designated for her, next to Hershi. But, the problem was her deathly fear of the older boy. And the other? Well, it was Josslyn's. Wouldn't it be rude to steal her mentor's seat, anyway? So, slowly and silently, the girl's black flats moved across the carpet, and she soon pulled her small frame into the chair. Her eyes darted fervently around the table, studying every crumb of food. Wow! I've never seen this much food in my life! Carefully, she reached for a small apple and five grapes, chewing on the items dutiously. Delicious! Why would anybody want to miss this dinner?
