It's the first thing you notice about her, and right after that is her white and short hair. There's been quite a bit of scorn about Eden cutting it so short like a boy's but she could care less. Even she's not really sure if she keeps it that way just to be difficult or because it really is convenient.
She has a rather long neck, and her shoulders slope downwards. Her arms are slightly longer than they should be in proportion to her torso, but it's in a way that they look gracefully long than freakishly distorted. Most of her height comes from the length of her legs.
In general, Eden is rather bony and doesn't have much insulating fat or muscle on her. While it may seem she's mal-nourished and doesn't eat much, those who know her can tell you that she eats like a pig. No one knows why she hasn't gotten fat yet. Maybe she has a high metabolism. She doesn't really have many prominent curves about her, but she's not a shapeless plank. Her hips are wider than average, which she sometimes loves and sometimes hates. Maybe if she filled out a bit they'd be more attractive. As it is, they're more of an annoyance to her.

- → memoir { { history; optional } } :: Born into a family that already had much circling debate and suspicion, Eden enjoyed living in relative ease because of her lineage with the Bathory family. While her immediate family was pleasant enough, there was much controversy and rumors about her distant relative, Elizabeth Bathory, for whom Eden's middle name was named for. Recently it's come to light that her relative has been killing maidens and bathing in their blood, making the Bathory's a very nice target for people looking for someone to blame.
While she never had any siblings herself, Eden was relatively popular around the others in her social class. She practiced Catholicism with her family and friends like all of them, and for a while she even believed in God. Which isn't to say she still doesn't (she figures if there's a Lucifer there's definitely a God), but she doesn't put much faith into him anymore. Somewhere along the way Eden got caught up with the wrong sort of people, and she ended up practicing Satanic magic. Of course, practicing it in her backyard was not her best move, and the moment her family found out she was sent out of the household. With Elizabeth's arrest, Eden's new affinity for witchcraft was the last thing they needed. She's been wandering ever since.
The irony of her name was never lost to her. When she was younger and was still faithful to the Church, Eden was quite proud of being named after the Garden of Eden, where Adam and Eve were born. She now realizes what she missed back then: the Garden of Eden housed the Original Sin, and Eden is amused that she's named after such a Garden that is Holy and she practices witchcraft.
→ тeмperαмeɴт { { perѕoɴαlιтy } } :: Ever a fan of sarcasm, irony, and subtle threats and barbs, Eden's barbed and wild tongue is one that can easily turn silver. Rarely can Eden not talk her way out of something she doesn't want to do, or convince her way out of trouble. It's an odd charisma that might've been groomed into her from her family's social class. She has a wildly smooth persona that can slither out of any situation. She could probably convince the Pope that a pebble she picked up from the ground is a sign from God if she tried hard enough.
Eden is not one that you'll have a lot of fun getting into an argument with. If you get her angry, she'll unleash all of her logic and flaws that she sees in you and spits them back out into your face. Her blunt nature is harsh and unforgiving, and it usually isn't much of an experience you want to have facing. Usually, she'll get into an argument if you rub her the wrong way or if you're messing with the people that she cares about. While Eden rarely gets attached to people (finding attachments inconveniencing), her loyalty is usually unshakable. If she really likes you, she probably won't go and accept bribes to kill you, either. Still, she's not above blackmail, bribery, and other things such as these.
She did receive some education when she was younger, but her reading and writing skills are remedial and rough at best (as girls typically received worse lessons than boys did). While it might take her a few minutes to read a page of writing, Eden does have a very good, analytical mind. She's able to detach herself from the current situation and look at the cold hard facts before making a decision, ignoring whatever personal feelings or qualms she might have. As a result, Eden usually is viewed as rather pessimistic, but she believes that going into a situation expecting the worst makes one careful.
Favors don't come easily to Eden. Usually she'll just stay in her comfy spot on the floor and stare up into space than help you out. It's hard to get her to move for anything, but if you offer her something worthwhile (like a snack) or if you're in a life-or-death situation, she'll get up for you. Eden is able to tell when it's time to stop fooling around.
A large introvert, Eden dislikes going into large crowds and social areas simply because of the mass of people around her. There's so much noise and so much to pay attention to that her energy is always drained when she gets back home. She prefers peace and quiet and solitude, finding human interaction sometimes annoying and wearisome. Of course, if you can stay quiet, she doesn't mind your presence.
Eden loves her independence. She is adamant on never getting into a relationship with anybody because she feels that having another person around her all the time would force her into doing favors and walks and conversations that she'll always be too lazy to have for no reason. She believes that dependencies on other people is a weakness, thinking that since she's a witch she'd better be able to survive on her own, or she'd might as well kill herself, no.

His shoulders are broad and square, and while they're not bulging his muscle is nothing to sneeze at. He's on the taller side of things, but he's not an unusual sort of height. His hair and face tend to catch an eye simply because the color and shape of his hair sticks out so much and because of the shape of his cheekbones and jaw.
Caspar stands with a smug sort of air, holding himself with poise and his back forever straight.

- → memoir { { history; optional } } :: He hardly remembers his parents and single baby sister, but he does know that he was happy with them, which is why he forever has a grudge against the witches, who are to blame for his family's untimely death. Upon escaping the ashes of his previous home, Caspar sought sanctuary in the Church. While they readily took him in, they found Caspar of sharp mind and spirit, and they quickly honed him into an able fighter and one of intelligence and a strong believer in God.
Caspar's family was never very religious, as he remembers, but he now personally is very much so. His confidence and arrogance probably stems from his assurance that God is with him (whether He is or not). He excelled in the lessons the priests gave him, quickly learning arithmetic, language, and sciences. He was quite impressive, and he also worked physical labor for the Church, resulting in his physique.
He was never chosen to become a professional assassin, but it's one of the goals and passions of Caspar. He's forever wanted the formal training to become an assassin to hunt a witch. Alas, it never really came to be.
→ тeмperαмeɴт { { perѕoɴαlιтy } } :: Incredibly stubborn and will forever stick to whatever ideas he has, Caspar is incredibly difficult to get along with if you disagree with anything he believes in. His beliefs tend to be rather provincial, shaped by devout Catholicism. As such, he almost never changes his mind, and even if he begins to gain a small kernel of doubt he'll disregard it if only out of stubbornness. Asking him to change his morals is like asking a tree to move a few feet down the river bank. Pointless, idiotic, useless, and in general downright ridiculous.
Still, Caspar is not above kindness. In fact, he's generally a pretty easy guy to get along with, as long as you don't get into a moral debate with him. He's empathetic and has a strong sense of justice, and if you ever need a favor he'll do it for you. Often, however, depending on the circumstances, Caspar will ask for reimbursement somewhere later along the line. Although he doesn't spend it, he'll probably ask for money. Caspar never spends his money until he absolutely has to. As a result, he has a large sack of coins just sitting in his room at the Church.
Caspar tends to be rather straightforward and doesn't bother with things such as subtlety and hidden meanings. He enjoys saying things as he sees it. He finds that trying to shroud things is just a waste of time, and in any case he finds some people too stupid to understand innuendos sometimes.
Caspar enjoys work, and he's always seen studying, working in the fields or chopping wood, or training. He finds that idleness is a waste of time, and he almost never indulges in "fun" things. As such, he has few friends but many teachers that praise his hardworking soul.
It's incredible how well Caspar can hold a grudge. He won't buy from this one vendor guy in the nearby town because he once gave him one apple to much. You can imagine how he feels towards witches, therefore. Dear Lord, it's disturbing how much he hates them. They're really the only people that he's incapable (or else refuses) to try and understand or be empathetic towards. Caspar long ago vowed to himself never to get involved with a witch unless it's in the middle of a life-and-death battle.
