Ariadne
It was odd for Ariadne to be waking up with the moon, but over the past three days she'd adjusted fairly quick. Finding her roommate Cora still asleep, the flaming red-head walked over to the windows of the dorm and picked through the blinds. The sky was alit with fiery purples and red and darkening blues. The sun was sleeping, but Ariadne was rising. Becoming a vampyre was something that would take some getting used to.
Ignoring her roommate, Ariadne went to the adjacent bathroom, starting up a warm shower. She drenched her short, wavy red hair. That was another oddity -- everyone else had ridiculously long hair. Ariadne didn't mind. The young woman got out of the shower, wrapped herself in a soft cotton towel, and walked over to the mirror. The sapphire outline of the crescent moon stood out against her creamy skin. Ariadne traced it for a moment, then got ready. She dried and styled her hair, putting in rhinestone bobby pins to pull back her bangs. Ariadne pulled on denim skinny jeans and a pale purple blouse with the symbol of the Third Former embroided over her breast.
There was no more avoiding it. Ariadne went back into her room, made her bed, then looked to Cora. She didn't really know the other girl really well. Of course, that was probably Ariadne's fault for not speaking to her very much. Pulling out a piece of paper, Ariadne wrote a note and left it on Cora's bedside table:
"Gone to breakfast. See you later.
- Ariadne"
After carefully placing the note beneath an empty glass, Ariadne left the room and quietly made her way down the stairs. The dorm was already alive with people, but Ariadne spoke to none of them. She simply heading for the cafeteria to get her breakfast.
Of course it was lively as well. Finding an empty table, Ariadne sat down with her Cheerios, a glass of chocolate milk, and a plum. Getting adjusted to the House of Night was harder than she had expected.
