Vetch was surprised almost out of his mind both by her sudden appearance and her affection. He almost skewered her through with his trident, but at the last moment dropped it so it made a rather loud clatter. "They're dead now. Is there anyone else here? I though I heard a voice that wasn't yours." He gave Jewl a rather weak smile, but it was a valiant effort, what with all the pain and shock from the games starting.

"No.Good there dead."She had a cut on her belly but it didn't hurt.she bent down and kissed his cheek"Its alright.Did you hear the bush explode?I think it killed someone."

"When the world stops spinning, you'll just keep on running, won't you?"

Vetch gave her, though it was rather startled, an affectionate smile. "No I didn't. Did it start a fire? I hope not." He ran one bloody hand through his hair, succeeding in removing it from his face but getting streaks of blood stuck in it. "Where are we?" He wanted to get back to the lake and find a safe place close to it. The lake was his survival, and this dumb leg was his downfall.

"We are by the…lake.Vetch your not dying on me.If you die I'll kill you."She smiled at him like she knew him forever

Rose pointed twords the tracker jacker nest, it was now alive with buzzing. She spotted another one closer to them, and pointed to that one as well.

Clover's eyes widened. "Mel, we have to get out of here." She said quietly, pointing to the tracker jacker nest.

"I won't die, not with you here." It was a bit of Vetch's old flirtatiousness beginning to come back through the pain. "Good. How far away are we? I thought I walked a mile but I'm not sure..." He rubbed his leg gingerly. The jacket he had wrapped around it was soaked in red liquid, and it burned.

Jewl picked Vetch up"I can carry you to the lake."Jewl ran to the lake and put him in the water to wash out Vetch. Jewl slid into and rubbed her stomach to get the blood out.

An idea crossed Rose's mind. From were she was standing, she could see some of the career tributes. She looked at Clover, then the careers.

Jewl pulled Vetch inside a cave and hid"Safe here.Don't worry.If I get some poison darts and blower I can fight better."
