Melanie hugged him, her eyes shut tightly as the rain got them both soaking wet. "You idiot... I would rather die than you have to make a sacrifice to keep me alive." She whispered in his ear. Her arms hung loosely around his now smaller body and something struck her, and a show of loss hit her face as she realized that she may forget what he looked like in his human form. She bit her bottom lip and looked up at him, tears running down her face like a clear and tiny stream. Melanie loved him though... she loved him a lot, and smiled, happy that he was there, and so was she.

[Jump.Jump.Fall.]

Jasper rolled his eyes slowly and then ran his hand back through the thick hair, or more rather, atop his head. "I really look that bad, huh?" he asked, looking down into Melanie's ear. Jasper placed a hand on his muzzle, letting out a deep sigh. He slowly pushed himself up to his feet, holding out his paw-like hand to Melanie.

Irene smiled softly and gently squeezed Raphael's hand, glancing around nervously. "Which way do we go now?" she asked, raising an eyebrow slightly as she looked around.

Melanie sighed unhappily, but took his hand, and pulled herself up. Her soaked hair added to the now cold chill nipping at her wet cheeks, and she shivered. She held his hand tightly and started walking back to her base, feeling terrible for having made Jasper have to change for her. Once they got to the base, Melanie entered, her eyes red from crying, and her nose red from a cold. "Here-" she mumbled with a yawn, and handed him a soft red towel. She grabbed done for her self, and started to dry off, ringing out her soaked clothes. She glanced over at him with a small smile, then swung up into her hammock. She laid back, pulling the warm blanket over her as she broke out in a fit of coughing- after being in the freezing rain so long, she wouldn't be suprised it Jasper had it too.

(Sorry for not replying earlier...
My dad took me up Indianapolis for a few days...)

Jasper's lips twisted down into a frown, taking Melanie's silence to be a "yes". He let out a deep sigh and then looked down at his fur covered, paw-like hands, and he felt his heart lurch with a bitterness that twisted his face with anger. But, he knew that it was worth it to keep Melanie alive. Jasper followed closely after Melanie, but due to his new bone structure he had to get down on his hands and pad alongside Melanie. His ears flickered nervously and his dampened tail twitched to and fro, glancing up at Melanie out of the corner of his eye. Jasper slowed to a halt when they arrived at the base, rocking back onto his haunches. He shook his head and set the towel down on the ground, placing his hands down on the ground again. Jasper stretched out his back legs and then shook himself vigorously, large drops of water flying off of his wet fur.

Irene bit into her lower lip softly, turning her head down to the ground as she walked. She took a sidestep towards Raphael and then slowly wrapped her arms around one of Raphael's arms, gently hugging his arm.

Melanie's eyes shot wide open as the door to their base flung open, smacking the concrete wall harshly. "Hahaha!! Grab them all! This is the jackpot!" "Cookie" walked in loudly, passing through hybrids and others alike. SWAT Team looking troops entered with guns, black as the night that was dawning on them. The smaller hybrid children were screaming in fear as others, bulkier hybrids tried to attack, but were soon tazered and shoved into cages, being taken out by the dozen. Cookie stared down at Jasper with a hideous grin, and laughed, "Well what happened here? Half mutated? You're a lucky one. I can possibly make you human." he chuckled with an intense glare and a fox's smile. Two men ran up behind Jasper and secured his arms, readying a large cage. "Hhaha! There must be 60 ybrids in here! TAKE THEM ALL!!" Cookie shouted, crazed with his own greedy happiness. Melanie lunged for him and threw a punch but coughed loudly when he pressed a tazer to her stomach. she fell back, but was caught by a guard and thrown harshly into a smaller cage. Cookie looked back over at Jasper with a menacing glare and walked over. "You have a chance at a normal life, Jasper. You can leave and never come back- as if you had never been a hybrid at all..." He whispered, looking down at him. "If you don't tell anyone at all about the plans being made with the other hybrids, we'll even set your little girlfriend free also." Cookie's white lab coat swayed. "Do you wish to be human, Jasper?"
