Maya smiled at Seth sympathetically, she was good at lying; sometimes she almost fooled herself into believing her stories, " i'm really sorry... i did... i did" tears started to pool up in her eyes, she wiped at them hastily, " all that i could, she just...was too far" she started to break out in tears pressing her face into Troy's shoulder for a minute. after she was done she straightened up and wiped some more at her puffy red eyes, " lets just go eat" she said putting on a brave smile.

Mayda saw the others leaving so she grabbed the new girl's hand, " come on!" she insisted, " i'll introduce you to the others over some food!" she started to pull the girl, " by the way i'm Mayda and the others and i are more like you then you might think!" she winked at the girl and started to pull her some more, trying to catch up to the others now.

Seth smiled and nodded as he said "OK, that's OK though....she wasn't my real mother.....she adopted me three months ago, lets go eat." Troy holding Maya's hand walked into the buffet with Seth and sat down at a table for five. a waitress came up and asked "Hello, I'm Kelly I'll be your waitress today, what would you like to drink?" Troy looked up at her and said "Coke for me please." Seth smiled as he said "Me to please." Troy looked at Maya and asked "What do you want to drink?" then he looked up at the waitress and said "Five people for the buffet please." the waitress wrote everything down.

" i'll have a Root Beer!" Maya said smiling at him.

"oh, i'll have a Shirley Temple!" Mayda said sliding into the booth accost from Maya, " i made a new friend!" she announced, " but Maya, you can't eat her!" she said seriously and sternly.

Maya smiled angelically at the little girl, " i wouldn't even dream of that!" she said innocently. she then turned to face Troy, " i wounder if they have rabbit on the buffet, i'm really in the mood for that!" she said thoughtfully, then flashed a pointy teethed smile at him.

"Uh-" She couldn't finish her sentence before being dragged behind the group. "Can't eat me?" She asked. Kind of cluelessly. "I don't taste that good though... do I?'' She asked, earnestly. She walked behind them, and just murmured, "I'll just take water..." She heard the word rabbit, and her ears sprung up. "Rabbit? Where?! I love rabbit." She smiled, still not knowing that her ears were showing, when suddenly she felt them, and three people saw. She pretended to put them in place, then slicked them down off of her head like a hair thing. "Shoot..." She muttered, hoping that Mayda hadn't seen, or the others. "My name's Iggy." She smiled at Mayda.

Mayda's eyes widened, she had never thought that this girl was a half-animal-human like the rest of them, she thought that this girl was just family less and liked the woods. but now thinking back to it she should have noticed it, she thought.

Maya turned her pointy-teethed smile on Iggy, " Lynx," she said appreciatively and held her hand out in greeting, " Maya, Panther" she said highly.

"You... saw, didn't you?" She murmured, and looked down at her feet. "Yes, I'm a lynx. Pathetic at being strong, but quite fast, quick and clever." She faked a smile. "A panther? Now I know why she said not to eat me. I'm shorter, and smaller than you all..." She murmured. "I'm only twelve though..." She murmured.

Maya laughed, "it's nothing to be ashamed about! everyone at this table right now is a mix!"

Mayda smiled, " i'm part flamingo!"

The waiter walked off and came back with the drinks as she said "I heard you say you wanted rabbit, we have some grilled rabbit from China and it's really good. you can head up to the buffet now, tell me if you need anything." she nodded her head and left the table, Troy looked at them and handed everyone a hat saying "This might not be the best place to talk about that....here put these on they will cover your you know what's." he pointed at his ears and put on a hat as he got up and went to the buffet line, he grabbed some grilled rabbit, noddles and a small bowl of pudding and then walked back to the table sat down and waited for the others to get there food.

Maya took the hat and put it on gratefully, she hated to have to keep her ears tensed against her head all day, and let her ears relax and stand up, which would be a bad thing if someone knocked it off. She took off to get the rabbit; she got a huge plate-full and went back to the table. " yum!" she said then she dug in tearing the food with her teeth and claws. ((her nails extend into claws))

Mayda jumped up soon after Maya had gone and went to the sea-food section and she saw shrimp and salmon; she took a helping of both and started back for the table, when she finally sat down almost half of her food was gone; she had been eating it on the way back.

She took the hat and set it on, it actually looked pretty cute, but now they all looked like anime geeks. She jumped up and seemed to dance all the way to the line. She grabbed just a bit, and tidied up her plate, making it look much better then it was, and ate it with a fork.
