This is based off The Mortal Instruments Series. If you never read this Series, then this is what it is mainly about:
First there was man called Johnathan Shadowhunter who used the Mortal Instruments(The Mortal Cup, The Mortal Sword, and The Mortal Mirror) to summon the Arch Angel Raziel. Johnathan Shadowhunter asked to Angel Raziel to mix the anfles blood with his blood so he would be able to battle demons, and draw runes on his skin to give him and his desendents special ablities. This new race people were call Shadowhunters(After Johnathan Shadowhunter) they enforced the law and killed demons that wandered into the Mundane(Human) world. Mundanes do not know of Shadowhunters, but they are there.
Other Info
-There are places called institutes all around the world where traveling Shadowhunters can stay, while some may perminatly stay. There are people who run the institutes.
-The main setting for this RP is in New York.
In This RP, You Can Be Either:
>A Shadowhunter- Also called Nephlim. Shadowhunter can draw runes on their skin with a stele, that gives them special abilities. These runes were given to them by the Angel Raziel, and are all in The Grey Book(There Are Still More Runes That Are Unknown). Shadowhunters enforce the Claves laws over Downworlders and kill Demons. Shadowhunter use something called glamor, where they are invisible to the human eyes only, and can turn this on and off. Shadowhunters government is the Clave,who look over the law, and enforce the rules over the Shadowhunters. There is The Inquisitor who judges the Shadowhunters if they are put on trial for breaking the law. The Shadowhunter country, Idris. is in Europe, but can not be entered by humans. The capital city is Alicante, The City of Glass. Demons can not enter the city, and Downworlders can only enter with permission. Shadowhunters can enter and exit the city as they please. Shadowhunter Family Names- Wayland, Morgenstern, Lightwood, Aldertree, Penhallow, Greymark, Fairchild, Verlac, Herondale, Starkweather, Malachi, Cartwright, Merryweather, Hightower, Blackwell, Nightshade, ect.((If you know any other last names from the book then post it, or if you know any names that would fit, then post it. Please try to keep the families even. Even if you have the same name, doesn't mean you that you are like siblings or something.)) Keep in mind that Shadowhunters call Humans Mundanes if you want to be a Shadowhunter. (If you have anymore info, please tell me.)
>A Downworlder(Vampires, Faeries, Warlocks, Werewolves) Shadowhunters can be changed into Werewolves only I think, but once they are changed, they can not have the ability ti draw runes onto themsleves, and withstand it.
-Vampire- Vampires are burned by sunlight, can not say the lords name, drink blood, and live forever. Vampires usually live in large groups, and have a leader. Vampires can not drink the blood of humans because of the Claves laws. The only way they can drink the blood of humans is if one comes into their territory, then it is fair game. A human becomes a vampire when the "sire" vampire drains a human of blood. Then the "sire" vampire will bury the hatchling. The hatchlign will dig itself out of the grave, and then the "sire " vampire will feed it blood(Typically Animal). If a vampire does not want to change a drained human into a vampire, they will usually burn the body. They live for ever and can not have children. (If you have anymore info, please tell me.)
-Faeries- (I don't know much about Faeries, but here I go...) Also called Fey. Faeries can only tell the truth, but are very tricky, and will disquise the truth and make it seem as it is not. Faeries usually have strange appearances like flowers of hair, ect. Faeries are hurt by Iron. If a mortal drinks or eats Fey food they turn into a Faery. The Fey have royalty and seasonal courts.(If you have any more info, plaes tell me!)
-Warlocks- Warlocks are the children of humans and demons, and can not have children. Warlocks live forever and are magical creatures. Warlocks also have strange appearances, but not as strange as Faeries. Example: cat eyes, ect. (If you know more, please tell me.)
-Werewolves- When a Werewolf is first changed, it will only be able to change at a full moon, and has to change at a full moon. Once a Werewolf has control, it can change when ever, and HAS to change at a full moon. A human or Shadowhunter becomes a Werewolf when they are bitten, and will find out if it took effect(Cause in some special cases, someone may be bitten, and it will not take effect). Werewolves are hurt by sliver. (If you have any more info, Plaes tell me.)
>Humans- ((No Need For Explanation)) There can be some Shadowhuntera that were raised as Mundanes, but please don't make too many of them. Some humans may know about the Shadowhunter. (Please Don't Make Too Many Humans(Around 5 Would Be Nice). Remember, This RP Is Based Off Of the Shadowhunter World.)
