Helena "Lena" Emberbloom
"Somebody get me through this nightmare, I can't control myself..."
Lena felt Zorath's mind still pressing forward, trying to get to the darkness inside her. It did no good. The voice was hissing in her mind, laughing and taunting her. She struggled to grasp whatever it was, but it slipped away each time. She couldn't fight an enemy she couldn't find. And sound did nothing inside one's mind. She suddenly felt swept up into the darkness and she laid totally still. The pain in her head faded and she stared straight ahead. The darkness wrapped around her layer after layer, disguising its self and merging its self with her own mind.
You've put on quite the little show, my dear. That'll never do. No. For our purposes, we need you to be normal. That means you'll have to cooperate.
There's no way I'm cooperating with you! Lena screamed at the voice.
Oh I think you will, the voice cooed, I've already got you. No sense fighting me. Now where to begin. We need to make your little friend think he's won.
Lena whimpered as the darkness further grasped her mind. It dug though her deepest buried thoughts, taking on the shape and form of her normal self. She was powerless to stop it as it locked her remaining sanity away. It worked fast, consuming every part of her mind and taking its shape until it looked as if the darkness had never existed there at all. It smashed the barrier to let Zorath in, but it was too late for him to do anything. It would look to him like the darkness had vanished.
Speak my sweet little pawn, the voice whispered.
Lena opened her eyes,
"Zorath?" she whispered, "I-I think it worked."
She sat up and rubbed her head,
"I still feel like crap though," she muttered.
The voice laughed.
