Le Plot

Circuses are a part of american history,from roaming the wild west to being heckled by animal rights groups. Circuses nowadays are almost all the same,with a troupe of clowns, a fe trapeze artists and occasionally an elephant. Almost all of them follow the rules.

ALMOST all of them.

The Circus of fear,or "The Cirque" as the workers call it is a traveling circus filled with freaks and the supernatural. Like most circuses,it employs people who are interested in the art,but for some the art is interested in them. In other words,freaks of nature. It does not have a website,nor can they be reached by phone. In fact,the Cirque confiscates anything that can take pictures during an act. Why? Because the acts there are far from normal,and if police had solid proof that the Cirque was...Evil,then they would surely shut it down. The Cirque has been in trouble with the law many times,including killing a goat in an act,to a lawsuit a woman filed for losing a hand.And the best part?

You work there.

Le Rules

1. No clowns. this is not the kind of circus that employs overweight men in makeup.
2.Romance is allowed,but keep it PG-13-keep it tasteful.
3. You can have a sad past. You can have a tear jerking past. But please,if bad things have happened to your character,only mention the relavent things. In other words, I shouldn't have to call the WAAAmbulance.
4.No GMing,or PPing. With that being said,no strongmen that can lift buildings,and no mind readers that can influence people to kill themselves.
5.If you and another person are RPing back and forth,that's fine. But if you and another person are RPing back and forth and there is another person who is being ignored,that's not. Try to include everybody.
6.You can have a vampire,and you can have a werewolf. Just no killing each other.
7.It's annoying to overuse smileys I dont care if you like them. don't do it.
8.If you think this is a terrible plot and everybody should hate me for it please leave,and don't let the door hit you on the way out. Idon't want door smudges.

Boris Vilmer

The Ringleader of the Cirque,Boris is a very interesting character.He was born the fourth child in a poor family in the 1800s, and went to work at the age of ten. He never learned to read or write, but can recognize numbers, certain words, sign his name, and draw rather well.Eventually,Boris grew an obbsession with being immortal after witnessing his father's death.And so, he became a vampire during his late teen years (between 17 and 20). At first, he was irritated by the customs of vampires, having called the vampire's "backwards imbeciles", and thought that they should be moving towards the future rather than wallow in the past, but adapted soon enough. He learned to manipulate Corpse People, a species of monster that lived in the wilderness.They had skin that was permanentley rotting,due to parasites they are born with. Boris learned how to speak with them,and in return of being his servants,he gives them food and shelter. Eventually he found his way to The Cirque. After years with the Cirque, He was eventually crowned the owner,and due to his Vampiric age,he stayed the same while others grew old. He has now gotten new performers and a new home,training a new age of freaks.

He has greasy black hair that is almost always hidden under a tophat,and an accidental industrial piercing from a run in with a rabid Corpse Person. He has a sickening shade of pale skin,and is about seven feet tall (He has marfan's syndrome). He most often wears a victorian gentlman's outfit,consisting of a white shirt with a black vest with matching black shoes and pants (and never without his tophat.) His right eye is actually fake,it was replaced after the same Corpse Person that bit a hole in his ear gouged out his eye. His replacement eye is special,allowing him to look back in time at something.ie;looking at a painting,and then seeing it's rough draft,or someones old scars. The special eye is hot pink,but it is kept under a brown contact lense when the Cirque is performing.

Name: Gabriel Quint
Looks:
He usually wears his hair tied back in a messy ponytail and wears a bowler hat most of the time and dresses in victorian style clothing: A white shirt with baggy sleeves, a black, long-tailed waistcoat, black trousers, black boots and his bowler hat.
Personality: Gabriel is a very quiet and withdrawn guy. He tends to prefer being alone as he's never sure how to deal with people. Despite being very sweet in nature and kind to his friends, he will kill without mercy. However, he only kills when he has to. He is quite intelligent but doesn't often show it and so is often underestimated. He loves playing the violin and his violin is one of his most prized posessions. He smokes rather frequently since he became a vampire. He has a very slight French accent that gets thicker if he gets angry or sad. He only speaks English when he has to and says it feels wrong on his tongue. He tends to shy away from the modern world as he misses what it used to be like. He is, however, a very good performer and loves being at the cirque.

Unusual Trait: He's a vampire, obviously. He can control people's movements with his mind and using hand gestures (eg. if he raises his left arm, the person he's controlling also raises their left arm)
History: Originally born in France in the late 1600s, Gabriel was born to a very rich family. He was an only child with two parents who barely paid attention to him. As a result, as he grew up he became even more withdrawn and quiet. However, he also became verquey rebellious, attempting to run away several times and always being dragged back home. Eventually, he managed to escape from his parents but was soon found by an ancient vampire. The vampire turned him against his will, draining him almost to the point of death and them forcing him to take the vampire's blood. He travelled with his maker, until he was attacked and killed by hunters in 1780. Gabriel wandered alone for over a century before finding shelter with the cirque, around the time Boris arrived.

ooc: Yay, and I was even going to close. (nice character, btw.) Since it took a bit to start off,I guess rping now is fine since it'll bump up the board so more people can join as we go.

IC: A cold gust of wind shot through the window of a small trailer, knocking down an alarm clock and setting it off. A long bony hand smashed itself on where the alarm clock was supposed to be, followed by a very loud "Ouch". Boris slowly shifted out of his bed, and stopped the now outdated, old fashioned alarm clock. A small hideous creature shot right out from under his bed, now holding a shiny black vest. It was certainly humanoid, about four feet tall with huge orange eyes that seemed to always glare and dingy white skin with various bloodstains and cracks in its skin. It reeked to high heaven, giving off an ungodly smell that would likely paralyze a small animal. Now dressed in a formal gentleman's outfit, he walked out of the trailer, and into the circle with others like his. They were set up in a circle with only two slightly smaller than the rest, where an entrance was formed. This is where the corpse people were stored. He didn't like to see them as actual people, since he knew the grief of using people as near slaves would drive him crazy, while using objects to help him was completely justified. So instead ,he refered them as those or that then rather them or him. Although it was daytime, the sky’s were gray and cloudy-blocking the sun's harmful rays to him. A soothing violin melody was coming from one of them, one that made even the Corpse People hum along. The reason it was there was one of his best performers, who half played for the joy of it and half played to set the mood for the tourists that would soon come by.
Surprisingly, the tourists are what he disliked the most. They always asked stupid questions like "What does it eat?" after being told of something’s feeding habits. Either that, or they insisted that the Cirque was filled with animal killing monsters who should be locked away as they chewed on a piece of jerky. But for now he would enjoy the music and go to the kitchen trailer, humming along as he cooked.

Personality: Kat is firey and loud. She doesn't take crap from anyone, and you better have a death wish to mess with her. She's crazy independent at times, and won't do anything she doesn't want to do. Kat is intense, and loud noises, guns, and thing like that don't bother her. If you can manage to get on her good side she'll die for you, and protect you with her life.
