Violet was thrown back in her seat, the wind knocked from her lungs. She struggled to breathe for a second, curious as to what had thrown her back. She craned her neck to see out the small, porthole window, amazed at what she was experiencing. The city was an ocean of buildings far beneath her, people like grains of sand on the ocean floor. Sky scrapers that would have been monumental when on the ground were now as insignificant as twigs. She felt like could crush them all with one step. She watched, awed, as gentle looking clouds drifted by on the same altitude she was, their luminous shapes firming dragons and sailboats, before being kist ti the wind. She saw a flock of geese uttering puzzled squawks, and laughed as the bus pulled ahead of them, winning their aerial race. Her hair whipped back from her face, Violet's eyes glowed with pleasure, and adrenaline.
"Are we really flying?" Her sentence was directed at no one in particular, but it was carried away by the swift gusts of air, rendering her silent. She attempted to speak again, but when she got the same result, she felt content on being speechless, and offered a smile to Calvin, instead.
