Acacia sat up on a steep hill, hidden behind a large boulder. She turned to her right to find Lysander sleeping against a tall oak, snoring softly.
"Hey," she said, nudging him with the toe of her shoe. "Wake up!"
"Wah?" Lysander mumbled, blinking up at her.
"Get up!"
"Why?" Lysander rubbed his eyes and stood up. "What've we got to do today that's so important? Nothing." He looked at his partner, boredom shown in his tired expression. "We've been wandering around for days! The only exciting thing that's happened is watching those shifters almost get themselves killed."
Acacia frowned. "Just get a move on," she said and began to walk away.
Lysander ran up to her and fell in step beside her. "Why? We're not stalking them, are we?"
His answer to his question was met with silence, but he knew what she was thinking.
"We are?" His eyes widened. "Why? What's up them? We've got no reason to follow them. They're nothing to us!" He paused. "Aren't they?"
"Oh, Lysander... Haven't you ever known how fun it is to mess with someone?" Acacia grinned.
Lysander sighed. "Fine. We'll follow them. But if anything bad happens to me, I'm blaming you for it."
"All right, all right. You can blame me." Acacia rolled her eyes in his direction, a smile playing on her lips.
Lions make you brave;
Giants give you faith;
Death is a charade;
You don't have to feel safe to feel unafraid.
