Personality: She is odd, to say the least. She tends to be rather quiet and secretive, mysterious, but not in a truly "quiet" way. Always carrying several weapons, hidden in cloths that had nowhere to hide them really, she hides in plain sight with superhuman speed and strength that she passes off easily as just being someone who "you don't want to mess with." She has an easy smirk, a subtle grin and a smooth bite; messing with her is not necessary for her to choose you for her next meal. But, she is incredibly loyal. Like a dog who guards his master and his master alone. In truth, getting to know her(or "messing" with her) would be smartest, on the off-chance that you become someone she considers a "friend." Because, if you do, she will protect you from those lawless fiends who haunt the night.
She kills swiftly, sometimes, but knows no mercy or pity for those she is set upon. Avery has become skilled beyond the "norm" of vampires, evident in her long survival. In several places in England and Germany she is still notorious as the "Archangel." They call her a "punisher" and mean it as both the greatest insult and the greatest sign of respect. "The Archangel mocks us," they whisper when one of their vampires dies mysteriously and the smug smirk she wears after killing a vampire haunts their dreams.

History: Avery was an eccentric even in life. She wore whatever suited her taste that day and had no qualms about going against the fashion trends. However, she was a charming young lady and, rather than be shamed by her eccentricities, the trends changed to suit her. Her whim was the ballroom in which all the lords and ladies danced. However, on the 21st of December, he "Death Day" rolled around. At a particularly exciting party, one that no one would later admit attending, she snuck out to the garden to catch her breath, laughing merrily. A young man joined her and they flirted idly to pass the time. Or so she thought. It was a long, pain-filled night and she woke days later in her own room, a red mark on her neck the only evidence of that night. She spent six years pretending that that night never happened, letting everyone believe she'd gone home early and just been sick those days spent in bed with a high fever. Her body temperature was lower than normal, but people accepted this without question, and her appetite for red meat grew but, as a high-class lady, she managed to fool everyone, even herself, into think she was human. But one night she bit her husband of five years and drained him dry to satisfy her thirst, and she could deny it no longer. She disposed of the body with strength she had not possessed years before, then fled Paris for the busy streets of London. Eighty years she spent in England, moving around after decade or two, but eventually she wound up back in France. Only one person recognized her, an ancient woman on her deathbed--Nina Devon, her best friend. She'd laughed at the long, long story Avery told her and died with a smile on her face, saying Avery was the angel God sent to take her home and how it was much better than she'd ever imagined.
Avery immediately left France, never to return again. She spent a long while in Greece after that, enjoying the sun and the sea and all the pretty little delicacies she could desire. She didn't even think about leavin until the 1920s when she moved to America at last, purely on a whim. Dining on fine wine and dancing, she enjoyed the nightlife like a mouse in cheese and remarried after two centuries of loneliness. The man she married was wealthy--"more money than God" they'd say and laugh at their own blasphemy--and in no way devout, so he wanted his beautiful wife for her looks alone, just as she wanted him for his money. It was a lovely arrangement and he died long before she would have liked, killed on December 7th 1941 whilst on a business trip to Pearl Harbor. Filled with rage at her husband's demise, for she'd adored him even if she didn't love him, she went to the army and tried to join. They denied her, of course, so she went higher up--she walked through the front door of the white house, leaving guards sprawled on the lawn like ragdolls, and informed him she was going to fight in the war whether he liked it or not. He personally arranged for her to learn how to shoot and, during her twenty three years of service, she served loyally as a sniper/assassin even after the war ended. She was finally honorably discharged and immediately disappeared for a while, until they contacted her about some sort of high concentration of vampires and sent her in undercover. As "a student." Something new everyday. She thinks it's hilarious and can't wait to scare some kids. Funfunfun.

Other: Her personality/history came out sort of odd, but I'm fond of her. I don't think what I typed up really conveys her very well, but it's good enough for now. Sorry if later on it seems like I'm straying from the personality her. I really think I could have worded it better, but...oh well. ^^
