Grant rased his eyebrows in a mock-cocky way. "Really? I would probably agree. But, just for the heck of it, should we have a fun little sing-off? We could sneak away from the crowds so they don't have to be deafened by me." He laughed, hping she would actually say yes. It sounded like it might actually be fun.

I nodded, grabbed his hand and sneaked out of the dining hall. I stopped, listening before I started iff again. Dragging Grant along, I stopped again and pressed my ear to a door. Silence. I smiled faintly, turned the knob and found myself in the room where the tributes watched the reapings earlier. "Who sings first?"

Grant smiled, following her into a room. When settled, he thought for a moment. "You? I need to think of a song where I won't screech as much." He laughed.

I smile, hiding my nerves. "Okay. I heard mockingjays singing different verses of this song back in my District." I nod, take a brief moment to remember the lyrics, and began.
"Are you, are you coming to the tree? Where they strung up a man they say murdered three. Strange things did happen here, no stranger would it be, if we met up at midnight in the hanging tree.

Grant stood there, jaw dropped. He stayed still and silent for a moment, not knowing what to say. A moment later, he shook his head clear, and managed to say, "Whoa. Completely amazing. Yeah, I'm not gonna win. Might as well back down now." He laughed, rolling his eyes playfully. She seriously is good! Great!

Grant nodded, a sideways smile on his lips. "Definetly." He thought for a moment. "Hm... maybe for my song, I know one... but i may need a female lead in it. You in? It'd be kind-of awesome." He put his hands in his pockets, leaning against the wall again.
