My blush brightened. " Thank you." I said, continuing to dance in his steps. " You're not to bad either." I said, smiiling up at him. I was dancing pretty smoothly now, only stumbling on the floor or his foot a few times.

I decided I didn't like Josslyn, the way she talked about careers annoyed me but if Grant likes her then I'll have to live with it. Pushing away the remains of my food I stood up and looked over to Marissa.
"Care to dance, Marissa?" I asked the girl, from my own District, holding out a hand.

Honey - Tribute - District 12
I sat staring into the soup that I had been given. My eyes began to form tears as I thought of Mint, my blind brother, and a few dropped into the soup creating ripples. Remembering the company around me I tried to cover up that I was crying, hoping no one noticed.

Kaytan finished his water and looked at the boy near him. He kept brushing away his hair, and Kaytan smiled a little to himself. He must hate the clothes too, he thought.

Marissa smiled sweetly and took his outstretched hand. "Any day, Lero."

Mandy smiled. "Thanks, it comes easily," he replied, smiling as he searched her face carefully.

"So what dance, Marissa?" I asked returning her elegant smile. My hand gripped hers as we made our way to the dancefloor, where a few other danced simply.

" well, you certainly dance good." I commented, watching my feet more than anything. I glanced up at him. " Where did you learn to dance, if you don't mind my asking?" I asked curiously.

"My mother taught me," Mandy replied softly, thinking of how she died when he was 16 and his father passed on 6 months later because of alcoholism.

I looked back down at my feet thinking, 'Ok, touchy subject.' " Well, she certainly taught you well." I said, trying to lighten the mood a little.

Mandy laughed, cheering up, knowing that his mom was in better places. "And I'm glad she did or else I wouldn't be here dancing with you, would I?" he replied softly. "I can teach you if you want."

I laughed softly." I'm glad she did too, it's fun dancing with you." She agreed, smiling softly. She thought it over for a second. " Well i would say yes, but it's not like i'll ever need to know how to dance because of the games." She said, looking up at him from her awful heels.
