During the day, Wesley had written him a note and left. She didn't want to intrude more than she already had and she felt bad that he did so much for her. Wesley sighed as she walked towards her shack. She coughed, still sick, but didn't pay attention to it. She looked at the shirt and sweats she was in. Wesley made a mental note to wash them and return them to Eli. She glanced around, opening her door to her shack and walking in. Everything was soaked, but she didn't pay attention to it.

Lizzie marched into the appartment and dropped her backpack in the middle of the living room floor. She skipped to the balcony and smelled the flowers. Eli walked in behind her and noticed a blanket was folded over the back of the couch and he peeked into his bedroom and saw a pile of blankets folded on his bed. He watched from the kitchen as his younger sister walked out to check the blooms. He looked down by his hands which were on the counter and saw a note. He quickly picked it up and read through it three times. Lizzie danced into the kitchen and stood next to Eli. "May I have a snack?" She asked in her soft five year old voice. Her eyes were shinning bright. "Sure," His response was slightly delayed. "How about oreos and milk?" As he made the suggestion, he reached into the cabinet and pulled out two glasses. His sister was sitting at the kitchen table when he sat in the chair next to her, placing glasses of milk in front of them and a plate of cookies between them. They both grabbed a cookie and dunked it in the milk. There was a moment of silence as they ate which was broken by them starting to laugh at the same time. They giggled for almost over five minutes in which time they continued to eat the oreos.

Wesley picked up her blankets and took them outside to hang up so they would dry. Her eyes scanned around her surroundings as she took everything out of her shack and placed them in the sun. Wesley coughed covering it with a hand as she finished making sure everything was in the sun. She bit at her lip before sitting down in the grass and layed down. Wesley sighed glancing around, wondering what to do now. She'd have to wait for everythign to dry before she put it back in the shack. Wesley was kind of afraid to stay out by herself, especially since she saw those guys out, but she didn't move.

"So what’s on our agenda?” Eli asked his little sister. “Umm. May we go to the park? Please?” “And what will we be doing there?” He replied. “Oh umm. How about pet the doggies and, and maybe go to the river?” She said in a rush of excitement as she thought of the possibilities. She looked up at Eli. Her face was lit up. She could barely contain herself. “Sure. As long as you don’t get too close to the river and you ask the doggies’ owners if you may pet them.” She started jumping up and down, her dress flowing with the movement. “But first,” She let out a whimper. “Oh hush you. We should change into play clothes so we won’t ruin our church clothes. That work for you?” She nodded and ran to her bag grabbing her favorite blue colored pants and her favorite green shirt that had a cartoon dog on it. Eli pulled her sneakers out along with a pair of socks. “Okay you can get dressed out here and I’ll be right back.”

Sam and Tilly ran through the park, looking for some food and old blankets that were dry. Tilly walked ahead of Sam, seeing what all she could find, while Sam stayed in the back, sniffing everything. "Tilly, I haven't found anything. We may just have to steal some stuff," Sam said coming up along side Tilly.

Tilly looked over at the dog and shook her head. "No, we can't steal. That's bad and Wesley would get mad. Look, you go back to her and I will keep looking. Meet me back here with her," she said before running off, searching still. Sam nodded running to go get Wesley.

Eli and Lizzie walked down the stairs and out the building door. Lizzie's hand was in Eli's bigger one and she began to skip as they crossed the street. Her gaze was directed at the arch that was over the park’s pathway. Sculpted in the metal arch were two oak trees, one on either side and where the leaves met in the middle was the park’s name. Her eyes traced over the three dimensional work where her fingers could not. Her heart started beating faster as she lowered her gaze and looked out over the park. People were walking and jogging. Dogs were running and fetching all over. The river glistened on the far end of the park. She stopped, stopping Eli too when he felt the soft tug of her hand in his. He looked back and couldn’t help smile at the look of wonder and endless possibilities on the child’s face.

Tilly saw Eli and smiled. She ran over hopping up on his shoulders, purring. She looked down at Lizzie, but stayed where she was, happily, rubbing her head on his face. Sam came back to the park with Wesley behind him. He glanced around looking for Tilly. He sighed when he couldn't find her.

Eli was surprised when Tilly came out of nowhere and jumped onto his shoulders. "Hey Tilly." Wesley must be around. He thought. Eyes huge, Lizzie stared at the cat. "This, this is Tilly. My friend's cat. Tilly, this is Elizabeth." He introduced the two.

Tilly looked down at Lizzie and rubbed her head against Eli's face. She smiled reaching down towards Lizzie. Sam barked calling for Tilly, who meowed back. Sam ran over, sitting down in front of Eli. He yapped rolling on his back. Wesley followed slowly behind Sam, not saying anything as she walked.

"Hey Sam!" Eli greeted the dog as he came up to him. "This is my little sister Lizzie." She imediately kneeled down and started petting the dog. "Lizzie what did I tell you you had to do first?" Eli scolded her. AS he spoke his eyes flickered upwards and spotted Wesley was standing near them. He only looked at her for half a secong then returned his gaze to his sister. Slight coloring flooded his cheeks.
