Tylia looked around at all the unfamiliar faces around her. She knew absolutely none of these people. She felt like she could cry, but she didn't, since this was being broadcasted all throughout the districts.

((Thank you! I'm going to start with the reaping if thats okay. And can I have some sort of recap of whats going on so I can join in?))

Rixy peered nervously around at the group of people that had gathered for the reaping. Kyle was nearby looking around for anyone he knew. Rixy was relieved that Kyle had been able to get through his 'reapful years' as she called it without getting chosen. It was her turn now and she was feeling jittery.

What if I'm chosen? I'm doomed! I'll die! Oh no! Oh no! Oh no!

She tapped her foot on the ground and glanced around again quickly. There were lots of people here at the reaping. Everybody had come to see who would be chosen. A lot of them were crying too. Rixy squeezed her hands together and shut her eyes tightly.

Calm down, Calm down, Calm down, Calm do-

"LADIES AND GENTLEMAN!"

Rixy's eyes jerked open and she bit her tongue harshly. Oh, the annoying annoncer-lady with the weird name was here. She scooted a bit closer to Kyle, who patted her shoulder.

Announcer lady continues on. "It's time the reaping begins. And remember, may the odds ever be in your favor!" She rummaged her hand around the slips of paper. She lifts one out and everything is silent. "And we have our tribute, Rixy Itens!"

Rixy's eyes widen and she stammers "Oh. Eheh. Eheh. Oh." People are turning now to stare and Kyle looks grim and tighten his grip on her shoulder.

Announcer-lady looks around the audience expectantly. "Hello? Please come up now."

Rixy walked up slowly to the lady and earns a smile. Why is she so happy? Rixy was lead away.

Spark looked so sad, and I felt so guilty. Casually, I put a comforting arm around her shoulders. "Please don't cry. It's just..." I felt my voice slightly falter, "I'm just worried about my younger brother is all. I didn't mean to snap at you, Spark."

"Sure," I shrug, get up, and wipe my hands off on my rag before tucking it into my back pocket. I led the way to my house, where father was resting, tiptoed up the stairs to my room. There were several paintings. One of a tracker jacker, one of a mockingjay, one of a beautiful blue flower.
