taking the sling shot she inspected it for a moment and nodded. "this'll work. thanks." she hesitated before taking the turtle shell pouch too.* "are you sure you won't need 'em? do you have any other weapons. you know just in case." even though she didn't completely trust Friden she didn't want to have her first ally to be dead by the time she got back from hunting.

"I have a sharpened stick over there and a hole in the ground where I usually sleep." I said.

"mk, if you think that'll keep you alive." turning on her heels she walked out of the small camp and wandered near the bank of the stream, searching for animal tracks. after twenty minuets of nothing she finally stumbled upon a large wild turkey, yet, something didn't seem right about it. quietly she stepped behind a bush and waited. the turkey pecked on at the ground and she raise the sling shot, with a rock nestled into position. right as she was about to let go the turkey lifted its head. An odd hissing screech erupted from it's beak and small sharp teeth lined the hard yellow mouth. horrified she quickly let the slingshot's band go so that the rock sailed straight at the turkey and nocked it in the head.* wow. lucky shot.*for one second she let herself dwell on her good work but she noticed the creature was starting to struggle up. in a few swift movements she was over by the bird and she had wrung the strange thing's neck. starting at the dead avian she shuttered. it's needle sharp teeth were just overlapping its beak. for a moment she wondered if the thing truly was dead and if it was safe to eat but decided she my as well not waste it. grabbing a semi-thick vine she cut it with her knife and tide it around her waste. tying her catch onto the makeshift belt she continued to walk on, in search of another small meal, just in case.*

District 10||The Games||Austin

Austin nodded, grinning as normal but still having his weapon at the ready. He put one finger on Tide's spear and pushed it down a bit. "True, True. I'm Austin, from District 10." He spoke in a casual tone, as if this wasn't a life or death situation.

( Tide is talking to Austin. He's a little ways away from Ray. )

"Tide. From District 4." He said. His stomach knotted, his body tense, and his eyes narrowed. What now? They both knew each other now, but what next? To fight? To kill each other? Or to turn and walk away. Ray needed him. If he didn't return, then the younger girl would most certainly die with her broken leg, He took a small step back, his spear raised just so slightly to deflect any offensive move that Austin would make. He moved backwards yet again, a sudden thought coming to him. What if Austin had an alliance? Would his partner jump out and attack him? His heart rate rose once again, and he gritted his teeth.

Friden - Arena

Friden cooked the rabbit he had caught and put it in the hole he had dig as a refridgerator. He put the rabbit in there because he had already eaten. He also decided to get some sleep, so he went into his hole and covered it up, but he left a small hole open, so he could hear Arela when she came back.

District 5~The Arena~Arela

after another forty minuets of walking and tracking Arela had only managed to find a small rabbit and two scraggly squirrels that she didn't think looked edible. She took her time making her way back to camp, covering up any signs that she had been in the area. finally she made it back and was pleased at Friden's work.*he could be more useful than i thought...*putting her ally's slingshot by the tent she went to work on skinning her meager finds but decided to wait on the turkey, she didn't trust eating it; not until she got Friden's thoughts.

Friden - Arena

Friden heard Arela come into camp snd slowly poked his head out. He got out when he knew it was her. "So, i'm guessing you're better at hunting than you let on?" he asked. He looked at the kill, and saw the fanged bird. "Where'd you find this? District 13?" I'm not too sure about it . . . we might not want to eat it sience we have other food, why take the risk?"

The Arena~Arela

She had only half noticed Friden pop out of the tent and felt herself get a bit embarrassed.* "well, in my district hunting is a big no-no. i hated the peacekeepers and the capitol for that matter sooo i just kinda... stood up for myself without them knowing... if that even makes any sense." she hastily fixed a few unruly hairs and tucked them behind her ear, continuing to skin the last squirrel.* "you would think so. but i just sorta stumbled across it. it seemed pretty aggressive seeing that when it sensed me it tried to peck my brain out." she sneezed slightly as a piece of skinned rabbit fur drifted close to her nose.* "i didn't like the looks of it but i figured i'd bring it just so that both of us know what to look out for."
