"No." Rye whispered as she backed up against the tree. He was walking tworads her, but for some reason she couldn't get her body to move. Where had she seen this boy before? It was on the tip of her tounge, but for some reason no matter how hard she tried she couldn't remember. "Stay away." Her voice barely a whisper as she backed farther against the tree. Her ears twitching fast above her head to pick up every sound within the area.

Exodus gleamed at her then froze as Sky sheilded her. "Stay away from Rye!" He shouted picking Rye up and dodging Exodus's rageing power.

Shocked when Sky picked her up she opened her eyes wide and came back to reality. While Sky was doging his attacks she gathered up her strength and summoned her power. She glared at Exodus and released a large fire ball directly at him in an attempt to keep him occupied, but it could only last so long.

"Dru, are you a mutant too?" she asked.

"No, I'm training to be a mage, or a wizard, there's many names for my kind. But my mentor says that I could be one, considering how fast I picked up on the basic style and technique." He snapped once, and he held a detailed statuette of Emina, about two and a half inches tall, made out of fire in the palm of his hand. He snapped with his other hand, and the figurine turned to water. The next snap turned it to ice, then earth. Upon his next snap, the figure began to emit a gentle breeze. "Thats wind, obviously toned down quite a bit," Dru commented. again he snapped, and the air became so electrically charged that everybody at the table felt their hair rise. "Thunder." Then came a bright light that even Dru had to shield his eyes against. "Sorry, I'm still working on that one. Holy." Last, but not least, came a dark, foreboding magic that gave you the feeling that it was evil. "My favorite to conjure up, Demi, or Dark Magic. I'm also pretty good at turning things to gold. Don't tell any greedy kings though." Suddenly Eminas statuette turned to gold and Dru handed it to her. "Its of you, so it should be yours."

"Wow." Emina said in awe. "It's so pretty. Thank-you, Dru!" she smiled as Dru gave it to her. "So how long have you guys been brothers?" she asked.

"Yep, sure is. I can't believe it's been that Long already!"
"Yeah! It really snuck up on us didn't it?"
"Yup. Anyways, we better get back to the compound." Bryant stood up and threw his trash away.
"Hey, can I come too? Pleeeze?" Dru gave Bri the puppy dog stare as he casually blew the trash from his hand and using magic landed it safely in the trash.
"O.K..." Bryant groaned. "Just don't get into trouble like you did last time."
"Cool! Thanks!" Dru grinned.

Exodus got hit by her fire ball and yelled in anger as Sky and Rye escaped. Sky landed on the ground swiftly putting her on the ground before falling on one knee in pain.

"Are you okay?" Rye asked as she bent down to see if Sky was okay. She was worried about him. This was all new to her, the feeling of worry, she couldn't understand it. "Sky I'm sorry." She whispered, "Thank you for saving me. I have no idea why I froze up like that." Actually she did know why, but she would never tell Sky what she had remembered.

Sky looked up at her and weakly smiled. "No Rye, thankyou for making me see past the path of darkness." His words were soft but weak as blood filled his side and he loward his head down with pain.

"Sky!" She yelled as she saw him cringing in pain. "Is there anything I can do?" Rye asked worried. She felt like all of this was her fault. If she wasn't there none of this would have happened. She felt her ears flaten on the top of her head. 'This is all my fault.' She thought to herself.
