“Noon! Almost noon. Get up and just get outside for once!” The yelling woke her up, and Antimony blinked bleary eyes to see her room light flicked on, her sheets torn off, and her mother standing there angrily. “Get up and get out I said!”

Antimony sighed, knowing there was no use fighting this particular argument unless she wanted a grounding. Shooing her mother out of her room, she threw on her stretchy-skinny jeans, some converse shoes, and a tee-shirt with a hoodie. Not really knowing what to do, she grabbed her iPod and headed out of the house.

Iron Pass was dreadfully boring, in her opinion, and nothing ever happened. She wished just once she would get to witness something exciting here, but so far that had not happened. In fact, she doubted it ever would.

Deciding to go out for a jog and get in some usually ignored daily exercise, Antimony plugged the earphones into her ears, turning up the music until the jamming beats blocked out all the other sounds. Taking a deep breath, as if in preparation, she began to jog randomly, headed towards the park. At least there she could get some nice scenery.

Some people never go crazy, What truly horrible lives they must live.

Acacia Evalinn

Acacia nodded as Danika spoke, a grin splaying on her lips as she mentioned how she now knew her. She knit her brow in thought, glancing back up at the mountains as though she could actually see the mines by just looking at them. Well, she certainly didn't know. Her curiosity had only extended so far as to wonder where they were located and why others hadn't tried it themselves. "Actually, that sounds kind of fun." she grinned, folding her arms. "The only problem is, I'm not sure where they're at. I haven't heard of anyone else that's done it." This didn't sound so bad to her, however. They could easily get a bit of fame, even if it only extended to the people of Iron Pass.

I laughed a little. "Yeah, I suppose you're right. I definitely don't know where they are either. Well, I know where the new ones are. They're on the other side of town sort of near where I live." I just stared around the park and watched the other people interact. Then I suddenly got an idea. There was safety in numbers right? "Hey, what if we took a few other people with us? They could know where the mines are."

Acacia Evalinn

Acacia glanced out at the others in the park and nodded her head slowly. She glanced at the people who looked to be around their age and drummed her fingers on her side, going from one person to the next. It was possible, wasn't it? Surely a few of them would want to go. And, maybe it wasn't only the older people in Iron Pass who knew where the mines were? Someone could have learned of them. "Sure. I'm not sure how we'll get them to agree, though. Well, actually, it would make their summer a little more exciting." she chuckled. A faint breeze blew through the trees, cooling off the places where the sun shone through the leaves and made patches of her skin feel hot. "How many people should we ask, and who looks like they'd be willing to go?"

I thought for a moment before shrugging. "I don't know. Maybe a group of around 10 or so? It's good to have numbers and also different knowledges." I glanced around the park at the others there. "I think we should find some bored teenagers. Ya know, sort of like us." I spotted a kid at a picnic table, some talking at the entrance and a few others randomly. "Let's go talk to the kid at the table by himself." I walked over towards him, slowly enough that Acacia could follow.
