Iba held her breath as she backed up slowly, then, she turned and ran for it. Her body was shaking and her knees struggled to keep her standing, but she refused to collapse. "Aden!" she screamed out, but the boy couldn't hear her from his room.

Bear dropped the man's arm, sliding to the ground. If he could talk, boy how he'd be telling those two men off. How dare they hurt his girl and her friend. Instead of words, he relied on barks and howls, growls and snarls to get his point across.

Nyx grunted as she hit the ground. She watched as the man started to walk after Iba. "No! Leave her alone!" she said
She stood and jumped on the man.

The short man looked down at the dog. He kicked at him again then ran after Iba. He couldn't let her get to the school.

Iba was breathing heavily, with every exhale came a quiet scream. Tears streamed down the girl's cheeks, she had no idea where she was going. The sound of footsteps coming quickly after her made her even more fearful. She cried out for Aden, but her voice was lost from the terror that filled her body.

Bear yiped, rolling to the ground from the kick. He shakily got back to his feet and started to give chase to the man after Iba. His ribs shot with pain with every step he took, but he still loped after the man.

The hunter reached back and grabbed Nyx. He tossed her back onto the. "You're getting on my nerves " he growled.

Nyx started to back away from him. She glanced at Iba. Her eyes narrowed in anger. She stood and slammed into the tall hunter somehow knocking him to the ground. She ran towards Iba. She wasn't going to let anything happen to her. "Bear, go get Aden" she yelled to the dog.

The short hunter ran faster to get away from the dog and to catch up to Iba. He was almost to her.

Bear's ears flicked at the mention of his master and the command registered in his mind. He veered off and dashed towards the school building. The door was still partially opened, he might be able to make it in. He bolted past the hunter with a new found determination. He continued barking, trying to get his voice to his master as soon as possible.

Iba kept running, sprinting as fast as she could until... her knees gave out. She tumbled to the ground with a fearful yelp. Her eyes were wide as she tried to get to her feet, but her trembling kept her grounded.

The short hunter smiled. He stopped next to Iba and picked her up. He put her over his shoulder then turned to Nyx.

"No! Let her go!" Nyx yelled as she ran. All of a sudden her feet were off the ground as the other hunter picked her up. She kicked and scratched trying to get out of his grip. "Come on" he said to the other hunter. They both started walking away keeping a tigt grip on their prisoners.

Iba was so scared she was motionless. The fact that she couldn't see what was going on around her made it all the more terrifying. Her eyes were open wide, maybe if she opened them wide enough she would be able to see... not the case. She shook and whimpered as the tears continued down her face. What was happening to them? Where were the mean men going to take them?

Bear ran through the halls, barking and stirring up all sorts of commotion. Aden stepped out of his dorm at the familiar sound. Meeting the canine's eyes and hearing his desperation, he knew something was wrong. Bear bolted back in the direction he had come from and Aden followed behind quickly without question.

Nyx screamed and beat against the hunter. "Let us go!!" She continued to hit him even though she knew it was no use.

The hunter ignored her. He barely felt her punches. "Oh shut it monster " he said as he continued to walk.

Iba's head lifted partially when she heard Bear's fit growing closer. A small bit of confidence washed through her, enough to give her a voice. "Aden! He got Aden!" she called in both relief and alarm.

Aden ran out of the building with the dog. Once outdoors, the hunters were still visible. Shadows crawled up his arms and his eyes went dark as he continued the chase. "You touched, Iba?!" he snapped out roughly. "I will tear you limb from limb!" he threatened darkly. As he progressed, his supply of shadows grew. Each shadow of trees and rocks joined his army.

Both hunters turned to look at Aden. Both of them tossed the girls to the ground. "You really think you can beat both of us?" they said

Nyc slammed hard into the ground. She grimaced in pain. She looked over at Iba. She crawled over to her and pulled her into a hug. "Don't worry. We will be ok now" she whispered to her.
