Ms. Snider walked into Onyx's room. Onyx looked up in surprise. Usually, the only time Ms. Snider came into anyone's room was if they did something, but as far as she knew, she hadn't done anything. Unless she was in here to scold her for not trying to take control of all the other children, which Onyx had tried to explain to her, but she wouldn't listen. Seeing Onyx's expression, Ms. Snider said, "Don't worry, you're not in trouble." Onyx breathed out in relief. "I came in here to tell you that ((is there a choosing ceremony? I'll just act like there isn't. I can edit it later XD)) some Ranger wants to take you as an apprentice. Jamie or John or something like that." 'She means James,' Onyx realized with a nod. He was the established Ranger for her fief. "Is that it?" she asked tentively. "Yes," Ms. Snider replied before walking out of her room.

I stand, stretching my stiff muscles and feeling the taut pull. Next I tilt my head to both sides getting a satisfying pop. A nicker from outside my lodge told me that it was time to begin my morning routine. I am really glad that Barold was trained to understand time. I'd be lost without him.
