He'd only had one or two friends; the others called him a 'muted-freak' or 'silent boy.' He was taunted for not wanting to talk to everybody, but here in this moment, it seemed like only he and Alexa mattered.

Gray's amber eyes studied the boy with a book, turning quickly and jogging towards the water. The water lapped at his feet as Grayson stared absent-mindedly out at the horizon. The boy behind him still had his full attention, as the boy wanted to know more about the boy but was afraid to ask. He was tounge tied, but continued to enter the ocean, water quickly rising to his knees.

Oh crud, she finally registered. I'm crushing. A rosy hue coloured her cheeks at this epiphany. Usually, after realising something like this, she'd just out and say it. But after things turned out the last time... well, she didn't want to be in that situation again. Of course, she could always just ask Mira to use Amokinesis to simply sense whether Chloe liked her that way, but that felt oddly like cheating somehow. Better to just go with the flow, she reckoned.

"I - well - yes - I mean - there is one person," she stammered, fiddling with the snake-shaped ring on her index finger. The texture of the triangular scales beneath her fingertips was mildly soothing. Gods, Indie, pull yourself together, she mentally chastised herself. She took a deep breath before continuing. "So yeah. There's this one person... we haven't spent a ton of time together, but I think I'm definitely starting to like her." Hazel stood leaning against one of the columns of the arena. She didn't understand the purpose of violence, only that in some cases, to have peace you must first have conflict. To be human is to suffer but to be a nymph was so much worse. Especially with all the deforestation going on the world at the moment.
