Gloria shook Madeline's hand civilly. Something about the girl didn't seem right, and Gloria didn't trust her one bit. Of course, she didn't really trust any of them. She glanced over her shoulder when her district mate approached. "Way to kill the mood Chaska!" Gloria joked with a chuckle, even though she was sure no one would laugh. The girl from 2's attention shifted to the pair from 4. She nodded a greeting to them before turning back to Eden. Yes, allies until you decide to turn on us. Joke's on you when you I kill you. She thought bitterly.

Colby shook his head. "Close. Colby, like cheese." Even though cheese was normally a luxury for the Capitol, his namesake was actually from cheese. The year he was born a tribute from district 6 won the games. She shared her winnings with the whole district and Colby's mother was able to eat all the cheese she could. "Yeah okay." He said, Moses seemed really nice. "We should stick together in the arena." He said, really not wanting to go into the games alone.

As Sienna whipped away from the medical station she noticed Moses pointing her out to some boy from district six. She brushed it off as Moses was probably getting them allies and well she was pedaling them into the wrong direction. Sienna truly did not mean to what so ever but she did and she had no regrets either. The girl with Carmel hair and creamy tan skin stormed over to weights plopping down on the bench. Normally most would have a spotter but she was in too much of a confused and bitter mood for one. So bad that she didn’t even bother changing the weights from a previous tribute. Mach-North just went straight to lifting the bar up and down to do sets of 10.

“That sounds like a definite gameplan, plus I could use some allies.” He said with a smile as he stopped in the middle of the floor with Colby.“What do you think we should work on? I remember from previous years tapes I watched on the train with my partner the first thing to always go down is a blood bath.” He said with a sullen frown at the thought of what would possible happen to them once they leapt off there pedestal. “How much survival do you think we have combined currently? In seven I was always around some sector of nature... And sorry for asking so many questions. I’m a curious soul to see what we can do to up our chances against 1,2, and 4.” Moses said gritting his teeth slightly before following Colby once again. He thoughtfully tapped his lips mulling over the statistics they had. “Oh! Also Sienna will be allying with us at some point in the game. She’s the girl by the medic survival station.” Moses said with a small smile while pointing her out to Colby.

Caspia Searobin | District 4 | Location: Guantlet | Tags: The Careers
Caspia was happy to hear that Killick was willing to join her on the guantlets, not that she ever expected anything less. She knew him to be agreeable & generally willing to follow and besides, they’d hardly be Careers if they didn’t both think first about forming their alliance.

The atmosphere when they made their way over wasn’t as eager and excited as Caspia was feeling and a glance over at Killick confirmed that he wasn’t particularly enjoying the tension either. As they approached the District 1 boy looked over and introduced himself as Eden. Caspia nodded in response to Gloria and then returned Eden’s apologetic smile, clearly the poor boy had been left to try and keep the alliance friendly and she felt bad that they hadn’t gotten over their sooner.
“I’m Caspia, District 4.” She paused your give Killick the chance to speak if he wanted to introduce himself.
“We’re looking forward to fighting alongside you all.”
This whole situation felt too formal, and formal wasn’t good when you needed to trust that these people weren’t going to kill you immediately.
“We’re all standing around the Gauntlets and Killick and I were just talking about having some friendly competition so.. how about it?” Honestly, she would take any opportunity to do something like this. “We could say... anytime someone falls off an obstacle, they have to share some little fact about themselves.”
She looked around eagerly at the rest of the group. They were Careers and surely all Careers loved a bit of comprtition.

Felix Prestman | District 12 | Location: Knives | Tags: Penny
Felix was pleased to hear the girl giggle, laughter was something they probably all needed right now. He clapped his hands together when her knife thunked into the training dummy and then threw one of his own knives which this time clipped the edge of the target and spun off course, clattering to the ground.
“I wonder what they’d do if one of us did get injured before the games started.” He sounded curious. “I guess with Capitol medicine they would fix us up, no problem.”
At the mention of Capitol medicine Felix looked distracted. The wonders he would be able to work if the Capitol would just give District 12 access to their technologies. No one would die from a simple infection ever again.
He looked back at the District 8 girl, pulling out of his thoughts.
”But I should have introduced myself, I’m Felix.”
He extended a hand, a little warily, remembering how his Capitol escort had wiped their hands immediately after touching them, as if everything in District 12 was automatically covered with a layer of coal dust.

Gloria glanced at Caspia. "I don't care to hear a fact about you all." she said calmly. "And I won't be falling off the gauntlet." The smile on her face displayed confidence, even if it was just to make the others respect her more. Any sign of weakness and the other careers would tear her apart.

Colby was glad that Moses agreed. He felt a little safer knowing he had an ally. "Not much." HE said regretfully, "My whole family worked in a factory, we weren't exactly taught how to survive in the wild."

Penny nodded. "They probably would," she said, realizing how much more advanced the Capitol was than the districts. Penny, from eight!" Penny said, reaching out and shaking Felix's hand.

Eden chuckled a little, showing appreciation at Gloria's efforts to introduce some humor. At the same time, he chose to demonstrate his support towards Chaska by moving closer towards him, hoping the District Two tribute didn't think he was laughing at his expense. Being the kind and positive one could be a challenge sometimes. If only Mother was-
No... He pushed away the thoughts as a twinge of pain stung his heart. Still hurt too much.
Thankfully, District Four had arrived, lifting his spirits and hopefully the spirits of the entire alliance. "It's nice to meet you two!" Eden told Caspia and Killick, his enthusiasm refreshed by their friendly faces. "I love your ideas, Caspia. I'll add one more - we can carve our names into the sign once we finish."
He turned to the wooden plaque covered with the initials of their Career forerunners. A fond smile softened his features. He opted not to let Gloria sour the mood, instead encouraging her on the obstacle course. "I believe you! Would you like to go first, then?"

As Sienna continued her reps of sets, she watched the careers running the gauntlets like rabid dogs before setting the weights back onto the bar. She sat back up tying her hair up into a tight pony as her muscles were burning. Sienna snickered at the careers from one and two . She just couldn’t help it but in her opinion they were all crazy for slinging shots at one another but even crazier for volunteering for this mess.

Moses nodded softly,“I understand. I can teach you some things if you would like in the next two training sessions.” He said with a grin,“I worked as a logger with my grandpa. Well... Till I was Reaped for the games. My dad has to fill in my spot or the peacekeepers would...” Grandy’s smiled vanished as he couldn’t even finish his sentence. “Uhm... Let’s just start with fires for now, I’m so used to building one with a flint. I don’t know what I would do without one.” He said softly walking with Colby to the tribute free survival fire station.

After Caspia introduced herself, Killick did the same. "I'm Killick, also District Four." He couldn't help but smile sheepishly. Eden seemed like a pretty nice guy; he could already tell that they were going to get along. Madeline, Chaska, and Gloria, on the other hand, were definitely hotheads. But with Caspia also being pretty chill, it was a nice, even split.
Killick couldn't help but get irked at Gloria's rude response to his district partner's idea, but he was able to keep those sparks of exasperation at bay. There was no point in making enemies so early on, let alone within the alliance. He forced a smile when Eden mentioned carving their initials; he genuinely was excited about it, but he just couldn't get past Gloria's attitude.
Eden proposing that Gloria go first was good enough payback for now, though. Killick appreciated the guy for it. He then shifted his gaze toward the gauntlets, analyzing the setup and trying to figure out what to do for his own run. Hopefully he didn't have to go second or last; if he messed up, being in the middle of the pack would make his attempt more forgettable.

God, she hated all of these people. Especially that Gloria girl. Madeline didn’t trust her one bit. The District 2 boy seemed like a pain. He seemed like the kind to always be in a sour mood no matter what. Meanwhile, the district 4 duo seemed pathetic. They appeared too nice. Too friendly. She wouldn’t be surprised if this was only an act.

“Well it’s nice to meet you all! You all seem like great people. I bet you’ll all do great. Just fabulous!” She kept handing out compliments. If it weren’t for the fact that she has to keep up her act, she’d be bragging about herself. She’d also be trying to murder Gloria right now. Unfortunately, she had to pretend to be nice at the moment. She even gave a small laugh at Gloria’s attempt to humor them. God, this girl had the driest humor she’d ever seen. She really couldn’t have thought of anything better?

That district 4 girl was starting to pique her interest. “That sounds like a great idea! It’d help us get to know each other better.” For once she actually actually liked someone’s suggestion. She even liked Eden’s idea. She’d love to brag about herself and carve in her initials. All the future Careers will know how much better she was than them. Of course, that Gloria girl had to speak up again. She gritted her teeth and forced a smile. This Gloria girl was going to be the first one she’d kill in the arena.

“You know what Gloria? Eden’s right! You should go first. I bet you’ll wow all of us!”

Jay continued to make his little box shaped shelter until a girl walked up to him. He gave her a smile and patted the space next to him, inviting her to sit down with him. She seemed really nice! Jay was happy that someone had come to talk to him. It had been getting a bit lonely.

“Thank you! I did make this by myself. I don’t really know what I’m doing but it’s turning out pretty good! Also, I wouldn’t mind you watching. It’s been getting a little lonely working by myself.” He sounded excited to finally have some company. She had mentioned she wasn’t good at tying knots yet. Suddenly, Jay got an idea.

”I can teach you! It’s not that hard if you try.” He offered his assistance, even though he wasn’t even done with his little shelter. He’d love to help her out! She was really polite so why wouldn’t he help her? It’d help her a lot in the games too!

“Oh, by the way I’m Jay! What’s your name? I bet it’s a really pretty.”

Gloria hadn't wanted to go first, she wanted to watch others and not replicate their mistakes. But it wasn't like she could say no,she would look like a coward. "Yeah alright, I'll go first. I have nothing to lose." She quickly climbed up onto the gauntlet and took off, feeling very confident as she leapt from platform to platform. She would show them all just how good Gloria Lace could be! Only one platform stood between her and the end, and being overexcited, Gloria launched herself towards it with little momentum. A trainer who was perched on the edge saw her coming and whacked her out of her jump with a padded club, and she felt herself falling. Gloria's arms instinctively reached out for a hold but only met sky. Cursing in her head, she couldn''t believe that she let herself fall. All I can do now is land gracefully. She thought, recalling her training on how to fall with little damage. "Where do I sign?" She growled bitterly as she stomped back over to the group.

Colby listened to the boy's story, feeling sad as he heard his story. He hadn't given much thought to his family back home, he had been to concerned with how he would survive the games. Was he a bad person? He nodded as Moses referred to a fire. "Uh yeah okay..." He always had a knack for building fires. When he was little, his mother would always make him go out and get wood for the fire, then light it under the stove. This became a routine every day until Colby went to work and the task fell on his little sister.

Caspia frowned a little at Gloria’s blunt response but at least she knew that this girl clearly wasn’t going to care about any of her allies, so they’d have to keep an eye on her.
"I just thought some terms would make the competition more interesting. I guess you'll just have to hope none of us fall."
Still, not everyone disliked her idea. Eden and Madeline both seemed eager, and encouraged Gloria to go first since she was so confident. Caspia smiled at them both. Sure Madeline had been bragging earlier, but confidence in a Career could be expected. At least she wasn’t rude like the District 1 girl.

Caspia watched as Gloria completed the course, faring well until the end. Despite her fall she didn’t offer up any facts, but Caspia would let someone else push her for those if they wanted to. The fact she’d done exactly what she had said she wouldn’t do was retribution enough.

Felix smiled as Penny shook his hand without hesitation. “Pleased to meet you. It’s nice to have someone to practice alongside, my district partner is a little... intense.”
He threw another knife and this time he actually hit the training dummy. Instead of celebrating he winced.
“That could puncture a lung.” He murmured, feeling a little guilty about his harm of this fake person.
He turned back to Penny.
“So, you’re not training with your district partner either? Are they a bit like mine?”
He gestured towards the redhead who was currently causing a commotion, swinging a weapon at a shelf of cleaning supplies.
