Character Name: Ariki

Race: Half-Orc

Class: Bard

Physical Traits: Strong as heck but delicate, 6'5", 210lbs of muscle, rough, callused hands from playing instruments and working as a miner. Her hair is short and black, quite obviously just cut with an axe or something similar. Pretty androgynous looking. Often wearing jeans that have been ripped from fights/mining and a shirt that she ripped half off because it was hot once.

Personality: Can be rough at times due to how she was brought up, but she generally tries to be kind. She loves animals, gems, coins and all of the pretty shiny things. Sometimes can rush into things way too quickly, often hurting herself.

Brief Backstory(optional): Ariki was brought up by a family of ore miners. She was brought up as a son and was encouraged to be rough, however she always had a fondness for music. She took up music lessons in a local bar and slowly broke many instruments due to her size. She eventually learned how to play the harp and is very proud of herself.

Other: She loves shiny and pretty things, so she gets distracted by them easily.

Character Name: Jivilvilm (One of many names he's gone by in recent months, but the one he's most preferred)
Gender: Hermaphroditic, though
Race: Illithid (Better known as Mind Flayers)
Class: Ambassador
Physical Traits: Jivilvilm looks as most of his kind do, with greenish-gray, rubbery, hairless skin, four tentacles covering a fanged maw, four fingered-and-thumbed hands and a bone thin frame. The only way he differs from most Illithids is that his skin is blotchy (due to a mining facility inspection going pear shaped), and him being slightly taller than the average among his kin. Currently dressed in a rather plain robe, which, compared to the standards of other races, is actually quite fancy.
Personality: Any of the traditional Illithid arrogance has been beaten out of his system after years of everything on this plane seemingly conspiring against him. Replacing it has been cold, hard pragmatism that has kept him alive throughout these years. Jivilvilm, usually, is always angling in any situation for whatever advantage he can manage to get, and do whatever will allow him to get through a situation with the least risk to himself. Born of this pragmatism is a surprising degree of cordiality to the 'lesser races', and even a willingness to frequently work with them directly. Finally, beneath all this pragmatism and cordiality, lies a core of worry and stress, with a sadism streak a mile long. This only comes out when thing go REALLY wrong (such as recently).
Brief Backstory(optional): Most recent job has been as a regional manager for a Illithid trading company. Attempted to increase profitability and expand market variety by beginning to ply a recently abandoned route leading to a spice-rich world. Unfortunately, the reports he got of the route never told him about the Astral Dreadnought that was plying that area of space. Nor did it inform him that the world connected to the Paraelemental Plane of Ash, and that the spices in question were of religious significance to the local population of Umber Hulks. Que many destroyed shuttles and lost cargo, a few dead Illithids, several million Platinums in damages, a rather incensed Ulitharid CEO, and Jivilvilm bailing out on a cargo shuttle, arriving at (insert starting location here), having said shuttle promptly stolen, and is now trying to make ends meet by trading goods locally.
Other: Has STUPENDOUSLY poor luck, as his history can attest to.
