"Just because I can teach doesn't make the best choice." He rolled his eyes playfully. "I can't tell you how many of the other Athena campers got tired of everything I came up with before I was their head counselor. How have you never heard these before?" Aiden eyed the daughter of Hecate skeptically. "Better yet, how have I never heard of your shenanigans?" he raised an eyebrow. "Juliet is camp's Master Mischief, if she's been hiding these goods from me I'll wring her neck." He joked, a squeezed fist making a throttling motion to an imaginary child of Hermes. Still, Aiden would certainly be upset to hear another of the counselors shared his "messing with the new campers' heads" sentiment and he didn't know about it. "Oh yeah, I'm looking forward to it." he grinned, eyes shining. "Better run like hell if she finds out, though. Word about her's spread like wildfire already, and she definitely has a knack for picking fights and finishing them."

"You don't think so?" She spoke, but the words weren't hers. The voice wasn't the one she called her own. It belonged to Felix. "Then you don't know me well enough." Lucy scoffed, returning to her personal feminine tone. "Perhaps I am barking up the wrong one, but I doubt Felix had the wrong secret." A fiendish smile pulled at the corners of her rosy lips. "He told me, you know. Spilled it to me the year before he left. He begged me not to spread it, but I've kept it on the backburner for a while. I tried to be nice," she continued, flicking her long hair. "I really did. I offered you a lot, it was a pretty great deal, you know. But you never listened! So this is the way things are now. I know. And everyone else will too if things don't change, because I've had my fill of waiting, Gorman." they were threats. Thinly veiled, but all the same. Lucy had demands; ones she expected to be filled. She always did, and she wanted someone in her pocket. A son of Zeus was a powerful ally, so Lucy always tried to stay on Orin's good side. All the while, she watched. And she waited.

"Good." Death nodded, content to see the demigod's understanding. "Those undead will follow your every command, but like I said; they're limited. Things would be different if I were going with you, but," he shrugged casually. "It is what it is. On the bright side, you don't have to worry about any of the underworld children banishing them or turning them against you." the horseman twirled his finger. "Children of Hades, Hecate," he began a list, naming off as many underworld demigods he could think of. The result was fairly short. "I guess that's it. Probably forgetting some of my aunts and uncles, excluding Hades since he's Olympian, but whatever. I haven't met many of the Olympians as it is." he cast the list aside dismissively. "I'm building a clock. Anyway, they shouldn't give you any trouble unless they get some divine intervention. Since I won't be present to bolster them any more than I have already, any one of the gods could probably banish them. But since when do they ever help their kids?" he gave Vivienne a friendly pat on the shoulder. "You're one of the lucky ones." he lied.

Karter Zael | Hades | Tagging: [censored] | Location: Stables

After the meeting had been dismissed, Karter lingered as the others filed out, preferring to wait and bring up the rear. As such, he was a bit late arriving, but pulled his hood up, keeping his head down as he headed over to start tacking up. Horses had never particularly liked him, and even if he HADN'T been a child of Hades, he expected they’d hate him and his demeanour, but no WAY he was going on foot!

"You are right about the inconvenience, I surely can't drive us to jack." Ash said looking at the boy over his shoulder before looking back infront of him to make sure he didn't run into anyone. As soon as the stables came into view a grin spread across his face. "Oh Belle! Could you please teach me how to ride one of those beasties?" he said as he approached Mirabelle and the pegasus she was next to "I mean that in the nicest way possible." he whispered to the flying horse. He looked at the rest of the group and he realized he knew hardly any of them but he managed to catch a glimpse of Dahlia. He rolled his eyes and internally groaned. Why did it have to be that twin that joined them. He wished his half sister would've came but then regretted that wish instantly as he'd be too worried about her safety to focus on the task at hand . He outwardly sighed before returning his attention to Mirabelle and put on a friendly grin. "Baby here may need a lesson or two too or we won't have any driver." he said pointing to Teilo.

the sound of his old 'friend's voice sent a bit of a chill through orin. it was uncanny, he would give her that - and sent a few more memories tumbling through his head. words that had been spoken in that voice, things that he had been told, things that had been said in chiding, sometimes even angry tones.

but then it was gone, and it was lucy's voice instead, making her little demands, playing her game, and he did allow fear to slip into his expression. orin covered his mouth as she spoke, watched her play her game, and when she was done, he let the words spill. "no, no, please don't - please don't tell anyone, please, i'll do anything, please, i -" and then the words caught, and his hand fell, revealing a very poorly hidden smile.

orin laughed. a sharp bark first, when the mask was truly gone, and then fits of little giggles that came and refused to stop. he span around, looking up at the sky momentarily. "oh, sorry. i did try, though. you can't say i didn't try." he said through the chuckles. "okay, okay, serious now. serious. i'll be serious." the laughter faded, but the smile remained, coupled with wide, ever-so manic eyes. "you can play your virulent, vitriolic little games with anyone you want in this camp. it's none of my business. but this? felix? is this your holy grail? god, there's so much more you could've pulled upon." another brief chuckle. "you did it all wrong. oh, i wish i could give you better advice."

"i will, actually. i will. because the thing is, lucy, is -" his tongue poked out from between his teeth as he thought. "i think you think you know something. i think you think that it's massive. that if it got out, it would cripple me. that i would do anything on this green earth to stop it from spreading. and you're banking out on that. you've stood, you want me to fold, right? but... but. but." his hands clasped together. "we're in the forest. no-one would hear me if i started to shout. no-one would hear you if you started to shout. and that's where you fumbled it. because if you knew, you wouldn't have brought me here to tell me. i wish i could make you understand." the smile faded. only wide eyes remained. "listen, i know that you're looking to control something. we're in difficult times, right? i can't blame you for it. be good to have something under your thumb that you can bat around like a nipped-up cat. and it would've worked with felix. he was under oath. would've done anything to keep - even a tiny bit of it secret. he would've taken your word as gospel, right? because he was the only one who knew. if it got out, i'd know it was him. but i don't care." a brief pause for a sharp intake of breath. "i could go out there and tell anyone, right now. and no-one who mattered would think any less of me for it. in fact, if you went out and told people, if you actually knew, and you decided to use it, then they'd look at you like you'd just desecrated a bible in derry town."

two slow steps, just so he was close enough to get his final words in. "you, lucy blitzen -" a slow lowering of his body so he was on level with her. difficult, with their height differences, but possible all the same. "- are a mouse in a maze."

and then he jumped back, grinned, clapped his hands together. "good show, that, but i'm real peckish. turns out a bit of toast and a croissant doesn't sate a growing boy. so i'm gonna head off, i think. unless there was something else? any more things to offer me, any more things you've kept on the backburner? gods, i have to feel sorry for you. this was gonna be your big moment, and i ruined it, didn't i? i'm awful for that. still, there's always next time. always next time."

"let's hope i can still remember how, then," it had been a while, but - as stupid as it sounded when he ran it through his head - driving a car was akin to riding a bike. a bike with an engine and a gearbox, yes. in fact, they weren't similar in the slightest - but the notion of never truly forgetting still held true. it would take driving on the wrong side of the road and an offensive lack of roundabouts, but he didn't think it would be too difficult.

when they reached the group and ash splintered off to speak to mirabelle, teilo considered each of the pegasi individually. every so often, he'd nod at one, find it nodding back, and feel a tad self-conscious. were they sentient in the way that normal horses were, or could they read his thoughts? did they appreciate his movement of respect? surely not. surely a horse with a few mods didn't have a concept of respect.
still, there were stranger things. he nodded at the rest.

he caught the point before the look, and veered toward mirabelle and ash to figure out what the reason for it was. "has anyone ever told you that pointing's rude?" he asked, brow furrowed. he didn't mean it, not really, but it seemed worth pulling a little bit of rank. "alright, mira? i assume he's been gossiping. calling me that awful name."

on the side, he noted dahlia, and hoped that she was alright after the events of the morning. he hadn't had a chance to speak to her. hadn't had a chance to speak to himself about the whole debacle, really. especially the twitch. the twitch had been odd. he could feel the ghost of it under his palm, the feeling of the spasming cheek. rigor mortis, he reminded himself. it had been cold. his muscles had simply been warming up. it was just an odd coincidence.

bringing himself back to reality, he gave her a little wave, turning back to the pegasi to admire them all once more. some had clearly been claimed by the questers who had arrived earlier, but a chestnut stallion managed to catch his eye. it looked fiery red in the light of the late morning. and it was giving him a bit of a look. maybe he'd been chosen, rather than the opposite occurring. that made things a bit easier, he guessed.

Hunter's brow furrowed. "How can you not know?" He asked. Usually someone knew whether or not they enjoyed a good fight here and there. He himself had proven from an early age that he was built physically and emotionally alike to be a fighter. Of course, being a child of Ares more than likely lended to that.

"You’re more the artistic side of your mum then. Pity." Hunter had rarely had any luck creating anything. Usually he was better at breaking things. "You ever fight just for the heck of it though? Or find enjoyment in it?" He pressed, almost hopefully. Outside of his own siblings, he’d never really talked combat with many other campers.

Hearing Kade sigh in amazement was music to his ears. Even if it was his ma who made the thing, that was his family name Kaden was impressed by. If things went well, eventually Will would inherit the company from her, too. He already helped build some of them, just not this one in particular. "You make a good point, but I wasn't talkin' about no monster attack on my way 'ere." Will said, picking up the weapon from its bed, holding it in his hands. "I need t' get a feel for it, shoot it at th' range. Didn't get that chance 'fore I was on my flight. I oughta test it here a bit, but that'll wait till after the shrouds're finished. Ain't no way they're waitin' on those."

Hunter looked Cresolis up and down, paying attention as best he could to her body language and posture. He smirked and raised an eyebrow. "Guess you also inherited the prideful side of Athena, huh?" He half joked. Did he care if he offended her? Not really. Was she fun to talk to? Yeah.

"Oh yeah. After that’s done, maybe they’d let you try aim against the archery targets?" Kade suggested, shrugging, dragging his gaze away and back to his companion. "It really is a beauty. Looks like it could be quite powerful in the right hands."
