I agree I think Carol will start looking at Daryl more as a Son than anything. I just can't see Daryl being all romantic with Carol, or anyone for that matter.
And Bearsy <3 I'm the one who's been hiding the thread, mwahaha! Lol, no, but I think if anyone, Shane will try to after Dale. Maybe Rick if things get worse or, (Kinda big Spoiler I guess) they start to follow the comic a bit more and kill Shane off. Maybe like they did in the comic, (Carl shooting him) or something different...

Now, I agree, that Dayrl and Carol won't move closer as a romantic couple, that'd be kind of disturbing actually xD But now that Sophia's gone, I do think that Dayrl will sort of fall apart, maybe Carol will look to Daryl as a son instead of anything more. Carol is the type of person that just needs someone to care for, being that Sophia was her only child and only thing left to love and look out for in her eyes. I just see it as Carol wants to be that motherly person, and both Dayrl and Carol are hurt and... oh whats the word..... well, devastated? No, that's not it but I'm sure you're able to see what I'm getting at. But hurt people tend to move closer. I think Carol is going to want to take Dayrl in as a son, like a lost puppy xD Btu come on... who wouldn't wanna just hug Dayrl?

I agree with the whole "Carol needing someone to look out for"-thing; I doubt she's exactly crushing on Daryl or anything (though how she's resisting I'll never know *drool*), it's more of a mothering feeling towards him. Carol's in a tough situation-- not long after being freed from her abusive husband's grasp, she's lost the only thing she really cared about. I think she was kind of prepared for it, from what she was saying leading up to that episode and in it, she seemed to be almost resigned to the fact that they might not find Sophia. Not that it would have helped her when the time came and she actually saw what had happened to her daughter, but still. She was atleast trying to move on before, and not pin all her hopes on finding her alive.
My friends and I all thought Sophia would turn up back at camp, but she would've been bitten and hiding it from everyone. In a way, that'd be harder on Carol, since she'd finally think she had her daughter back-- she'd have hope that they could go on, and then it'd be taken away from her...

Getting back to Daryl, I think she see's him as quite vulnerable, beneath his tough-redneck exterior. She can see the part of him that's obviously softer, kinder and missing something, be it Merle, or just life before the walkers. I think she's one of the few people who do see that side of him, and he probably wants to keep it hidden, so any kindness Carol shows, no matter how much he may crave it, he's going to shrug off and avoid it.

Ahem, that went on longer than I expected! xD

Anywho, I do hope they don't follow the comics and kill off Shane until he redeems himself. I'd prefer it if he had a meaningful death and they weren't just like "oh yeah, that crazy one died. Shame." I want them to build him back up before they kill him, if they feel they must do that.
